This story is so full of comedic twists that it is indeed worthy of the Bugs Bunny cartoon. Figaro is quite the rascal but comes off as helpful and good in the end.

I liked some aspects of this book but disliked others.
So the tone of the book was rather light, humorous and enjoyable. There were some great one-liners mocking the abuse of power in society, such as:
However, although well-written, the storyline of this play was quite annoying. Even though it was written in the 18th century, it's hard to ignore the blatant sexism throughout the novel and the whole love intrigue centered around this woman who can do literally nothing for herself. It was also a bit too straight-forward, without much character development.
Overall, a bit a disappointing but I still don't regret reading it. I could imagine it could be more enjoyable to see the opera!
