This is a very interesting story. It does repeat most of the events between the characters with only a slight difference here and there. What does scare me is people like Mike in real life. I do have to give Araminta a 4/5 for that kind of character. For me, I have to settle with a 3.

A page turner. Narrated by Mike, who is convinced that his ex-girlfriend's marriage is all part of a sex game and that really she wants him. His ranting delusions show us how fixated he is with Verity, and even when a few shadows of doubt cross his mind, he still manages to make it seem that he is the only sane person in this love triangle.
The author writes at the end of the book that she was inspired to write this having seen how Amanda Knox was treated at her trial for murder. She was vilified because she enjoyed sex and did not act appropriately when the police came knocking, neither are crimes or indicators that she was a murderer.
The build up to the trial was a little long-winded, I had tired of reading about Mike's delusions. however once the lawyers and the judge got involved the story picked up, giving the reader much to think about as regards discrimination towards female defendants.

The level of obsession shown by Mike in this book is both believable and terrifying. Although I mostly liked the book, I felt like it just wasn’t quite enough. It didn’t seem realistic.

WOW! What a book! What a RIDE! Crazy, psychological thriller! Crazy main characters! What’s right? What’s wrong? Who’s telling the truth? Who’s lying?! I flip flopped SO MUCH! Araminta just SLAYED it! Never have I been so curious as to whether I knew the characters or whether I knew what was even going on. But most of all she just KILLED IT in the court room scenes. Holy hell. I’ve felt this way only once before, and that was the first time I watched the court room scenes in the movie “A Time To Kill” for the very first time. These court room scenes were riveting, uncomfortable, appalling, and utterly fascinating. What.A.Ride! Pick this one up and read it!

It's slower and shorter on plot than I would have liked, and you definitely have to be in the right type of mood to read it. But it was pretty interesting reading from someone who just 100% believes their own bullshit.

DNF about half way through.
I just couldn’t get into this one. I don’t think the decision to write it from the POV of the stalker worked. The narrator is unreliable but not in a way that is at all ambiguous or interesting. It’s perfectly clear, as he goes on for over a hundred pages about how his ex’s upcoming wedding to another man is just part of a drawn out game, that this is not the case, that she’s moved on and that the story is plodding towards a violent moment when his expectations are finally dashed. But I didn’t feel any anticipation for it, just frustration at the page after page of repetition. Maybe there’s some twist at the end that turns the whole thing on it’s head but I don’t think it’s worth getting there.

I seem to be unique in my opinions of this book, but I absolutely loved it. I really couldn't put it down. I honestly found myself doubting (and still am), if maybe Verity actually was playing all these tricks and secrets to Mike, or if Mike is delusional. I'm assuming he's delusional, but who knows?!
