As someone with strict morals especially regarding relationships, this book seemed very challenging in that aspect. It claimed that sleeping with a married man was not "wrong" per se. And the Bible references were a bit off-putting as a Christian but I understand the literary impact it was making.
I never really got some of the actions of certain characters, but Frances' actions made so much sense to me, she was doing things I would do (minus the homewrecker part).

I didn't know what the book was trying to convey, I kept looking for some signs until I realised that the "mundane" of the book was the message, the feelings, the behaviours and the life full of challenges.
It was not my cup of tea, but still a readable book. All vibes and no plot kinda. I liked it. Not so much though.

Funny and full of drama. The characters feel like real people and you’re the normal friend listening to them tell you how they’re fucking up their lives.

First of all, this book had no quotations when characters were talking which was honestly very confusing. I never knew if it was all in the main character’s head or actual dialogue. The book seemed to have a lot of hype for something that was actually mid.

this is a complex book with a deep writing style. you will need to concentrate at times to be able to grasp it but it is very good! Frances (main character and only pov) can get very irritating at times I find. yet it's good because it allows you to bond more slowly with her as if she were a real person, and she also knows she isn't a perfect person always in the right, which is refreshing.
