Vulgar, sexual, violent, disgusting, poignant, beautiful and just plain weird. I'd be hard pressed to describe Saga, as anything but amazing, though to be more specific it reminds me of Joss Whedon's Firefly meets Dr. Who meets Repo the Genetic Opera.
Hands down the best comic series I've ever read. The graphics are gorgeous but more importantly, the story is like falling down the rabbit hole in space. Interwoven character plot lines, multiple languages, an epic war, one of the most natural and realistic love stories I've ever read. My favorite part may be the narrator though, to be honest. The fugitive couple's recently born child, Hazel, narrates the book from the future dropping hints of how things turned out, and leaving funny remarks along the way that just tie everything together so well.
I cannot recommend this more highly. If you love graphic novels, you've probably heard about this already, but if you've never seen the point or been enticed by Marvel or manga, then give this a whirl. You won't be disappointed.

I loved this one even better than the first book. We got to know more about Marko and his family. The connection that Marko's dad had with baby Hazel was very beautiful.

Damn dit is een goede serie. Ik heb zoveel miserie niet meer gelezen sinds de eerste cyclus van The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever. Het is nochtans niet meer dan een Romeo & Juliet gegeven, maar zo mooi ingevuld en uitgewerkt. Ik kijk reikhalzend uit naar het vervolg.

I think this is up there with Sandman and Transmetropolitan as one of my favourite comic series. More here: http://blogendorff.ghost.io/book-review-saga-volume-2/

Incredible once again! Enjoyed the new characters and further development of the main cast greatly, and was fun to see how creative the authors can get!
