Wow! I just want to say Faerie Winter was kind of intense – in the best kind of way. A really good second novel.
Liza and her friends have survived vicious plants, and stones that can burn you alive but now they have to survive an unnaturally long winter. Not to mention a very bad Faerie.
The writing was again beautiful and the rules the govern magic in Liza’s world were still firmly in place, which can sometimes be a rarity in fantasy. I imagine it’s quite hard to remember every nuance those rules have, but Faerie Winter stuck to the rules set firmly in place in the previous novel. So a big YAY for that.
There were 2 major showdowns in Faerie Winter and they were really good. I was reading it yesterday while I was waiting at the doctors then lost my place, so when I got to the car I thought “Oh, I’ll just find my place and mark it again”. NO. I read four or five pages of the first showdown (because I was up to just before it began) and then realised I should probably drive away. Hence the ‘this was intense’ comment.

Tal como el primer libro de la trilogía, en Faerie Winter nos re encontramos con los mismos personajes, por un lado esta Liza quien al igual que la vez anterior deberá comenzar un viaje, que al principio parecía simple pero que se termina complicando, ya que en los bosques que ahora duermen por el invierno.. hay algo que asecha mucho más peligroso que todo lo que Liza ha enfrentado antes.
Con nuevos personajes, que logran conquistar tu corazón, con situaciones más duras y respuestas a preguntas que nos hacíamos en el primer libro. Faerie Winter se nos escurre de las manos en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, es de esos libros que te atrapan y cuando llegas al final decis: ¿Cómo ya se ha acabado? ¡Quiero más!
Con nuevos personajes, que logran conquistar tu corazón, con situaciones más duras y respuestas a preguntas que nos hacíamos en el primer libro. I liked this book alot alot alot. It reminded me of the zombiepocalyspe type stories only this time it's nature they have to contend with.

Al leer el primer libro de la saga el sabor que me dejó la lectura no fue desagradable si no mas bien desabrido... creo que hubiera pensado mejor del libro si esta "segunda parte" hubiera formado parte de esa primera entrega como un todo. Se nota mayor concentración en la creación de personajes y una envoltura más emocional que llega de mejor forma, pero mi crítica se centra esta vez en un pensamiento mágico surrealista donde la protagonista ya es extremadamente protagonista y la magia, valga la redundancia, resulta muy mágica sin un soporte que lo justifique.

It was a nice read, I liked the plot and knowing how the characters lived after the last book, but I also kept wanting to skip a few pages. And when I did, I didn't miss much. Maybe I'm just impatient, but this book could do with some editing.
