(Audiobook) interesting take on the conjecture between biology and belief. Especially the last part on the role of subconscious and the power to change it.

One of the most important books available (IMHO)!! So many facets of biological life are explained. Dr Lipton touches on the limitations of fundamental Western medicine, how energy medicine works, how we as individuals have more power than we can imagine (right now, just as we are), and even provides the secret of life. Further, Dr Lipton touches on early childhood development, how strongly it affects our lives life as adults, and possibly how we can start changing our experiences. Plus, the science is explained at a level anyone can understand. Do your body, mind (and even spirit) a favour and commit to reading this short book on incredible and interesting biology.

I listened to this and it was very hard for me to follow and understand for the first 2/3rds. The last 1/3rd made more sense and I understood it. Basically the point was that our perception of things can affect our biology. Which really could have been explained much simpler and shorter for the average Joe to understand. It also seemed like I was listening to a lecture instead of book, you even catch him say "um" a few times.

Starts out with a brief history of science and medicine, which is fun! Digs in around the time of the human genome project, which is even more interesting. Flows into a discussion of cell biology that feels a little dated with all that we now know about the gut and then moves into the belief part. Belief here meaning what you believe, not religion. The ending is beautiful. You should read it. It's great.

The narration was basically like listening to a Ted Talk. Very interesting lecture that taught me a lot. It does integrate a great deal of biochemical terminology, but it is explained/reinterpreted in ways that are fairly easy to understand. The ending does provide solutions to the big problems posed, and is quite hopeful.
