Surprisingly love love loved this book! It was PERFECT on audiobook and I was fully locked in for every chapter. It was the perfect build of tension and suspense. A classic “whodunnit,” if you will. I felt the dark and eerie mood building through every single chapter. It was so twisted and dark, and I truly loved the plot. I could see this as a tv series or movie. The characters were portrayed so well and the building of the setting and various scenes added so many great elements to the story.  I loved the character voices in audiobook too. I think each voice matched the personas exactly, and added that extra piece that some audiobooks fall short on. A must read! (Or listen 😂)

This book was almost eerily similar to Foley's "The Midnight Feast." Though I've only read two, they seem a bit formulaic. I'm not saying they don't work, though - I sped through this multi-POV edge-of-your-seat thriller about rich people acting badly on a beautiful remote island (very reminiscent of the White Lotus) during a wedding weekend. I liked the flash backs and forwards with the story being told by multiple people (again, very similar to Midnight Feast). I always enjoy the twists along the way and the ending of this one was especially explosive! A perfect airport, pool, vacation read - easily digestable. I like Foley's thrillers because they're always a bit ~ spooky ~ in the sense that there's an element of the supernatural but nothing that keeps me from sleeping at night.

Really enjoyed! Blew through it, the plot kept me hooked. Was surprised by the mystery, but all the clues were there. Audiobook read by different voice actors - really great listen.

My second Lucy Foley book, and I LOVED this one. It's definitely slow in the beginning, a lot of multi-pov books I've read recently are like that, but once all the characters come together it picks up in speed.

Big love for Olivia and Hannah.

It's definitely easy to figure out who the victim will be, but motives were a delight to learn. I really wish there had been another chapter, or a longer epilogue. The ending was satisfying, but not satisfying enough!

Big spoilers/speculation ahead:
I was just thinking about how Johnno was hella confusing, being existential at one moment, and then creepy and leery at the next. But I also clocked him as being secretly in love with Will from the beginning, so I'm realizing now that he was likely putting on a show. It's definitely not confirmed confirmed, more so the vibes. He says that he loved Will, but not *in love* so it could still be "platonic" in the way of roommates at an all boys school bonded by trauma.
