I started this series because I couldn't wait for Book 7 of the Dark Olympus, I need more Katee Robert!
I enjoyed this book but some aspects weren't really for me. I feel like the quality of this book compared to the Dark Olympus series is also lacking. There were a lot of small grammatical/spelling mistakes, enough that I noticed and it slightly affected my experience.
The pacing towards the end was a little fast, I wished we got more time to see the anger in Jasmine blossoming instead of the book just telling us it was happening.
I also missed some of the connections between Jasmine and Jafar. They have a lot of history but we don't really get to know the depth of it, just fairly general statements about their past.
Overall, I still enjoyed getting to know Carver City and the characters. I'm looking forward to starting book 2 soon!

What a delight that the story gets right to the sexy point. It took me a little while to settle into the CNC but once I did i never turned back. I adore the twist at the end.

Look, it's not going to win a Pullitzer any time soon, but I enjoyed it.
The plot was nearly non-existent, so 80% of this book was only-slightly-cringey smut.
I'm not exactly sure what I expected, but it wasn't this. I like my smut to have a bit more plot, but I guess I'll just have to adjust my expectations with this author. The typos and gramatical errors were distracting as fuck, but there are not so many, so the book is still salvageable.
It wasn't bad, I actually liked it. The smut can be hot if you're into the shit that happens here. Since I'm only halfway into it, I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have. Just the whole Daddy & Baby girl deal had me cringing every single time.
I did love the ending though, that coup was amazing and I too would bend the knee to that queen.
So, all in all, I kinda liked it. I definitely didn't love it but I also didn't hate it. However, I don't think I'll be reading the next books.
I have to think how I feel about this author. I'm really intrigued by Neon Gods and I'm a Greek mythology junkie, but I'm not sure that will be enough to get me through another book by this woman.

Like Katee’s other books, the focus on consent is very strong which is important as this is a consensual non-consensual narrative. High emphasis on safe word which made me as a reader more comfortable with the scenarios. My major criticism is that it uses the didney names and so that’s all my lil brain could conjure up. I know in this Jafar is supposed to be a hot n sexy mid 30s(?) man but all I got was 2D sprindly ole long face. Overall, enjoyed it but not her strongest work imo.
