This book is incredible. It’s so good I want to go back and change my review of his first book from 4 to 5 stars because it was exponentially better even though the first book felt like a 5 star experience when I read it. This book is so good it makes me legitimately upset that Hank still has a day job and won’t just go write more novels full time. Especially since he loves his day job and is unlikely to give it up. GO READ HIS BOOKS.

I don't even know where to start... I am disappointed but also angry, I guess...The first half of the book was good, but then everything went south. He started talking about Carl's brother, and kept introducing plot lines and character that in the end didn't even matter. The story didn't have a good structure, it just felt like he wanted to comment about social issues and developed the story about those. I liked the idea the first 200 pages, it felt pushed after that, like a lecture. Less narrators and the book would have probably worked, it was all over the place. The ending... so much set up and no payoff. It's just sad. The first book was great, I expected something better.

a reunion set to britney spears, an emotional support potato plant, and way more information about private equity than I ever wanted. spent over a year being afraid to read this, since I had loved An Absolutely Remarkable Thing so much. wasn't sure if a follow up would hold the same magic - and it Absolutely did :) takes all the endearing lines from AART and convoluted them. each of the rotating perspectives added to the story, fleshing out the characters from the first book. fun, chaotic, and a beautifully foolish end to one of my favorite duologies.
