God, Hastings is annoying. And the twist at the end seemed extremely convenient and not very satisfying. Poirot himself however is quite endearing.

2.5/5. Unfortunately, I did not like this book when compared to the only other Agatha Christie story I've read (And Then There Were None). I did not like Hastings, the narrator, and I had a hard time following along with some of the characters. Honestly, I don't think I'll be reading anymore Poirot. I'd rather read the author's standalone novels.

I love Agatha Christie, she’s not dubbed the Queen of Crime / Mystery for nothing. This book was full of twists that were in line with Christie’s usual work, but dare I say the rest of the book was fairly boring. I didn’t like the interactions between the various detectives. Not to mention, I sort of hate Hastings. I assume he’s the narrator for all of the Poirot books which is a huge bummer cause he’s just so unlikeable and boring. All in all not a bad read, but was definitely glad to be done with it.

Le duo Poirot-Hastings dans toute sa splendeur ! J’ai apprécié l’intrigue et les rebondissements ! Hastings a parfois un comportement irritant mais sinon roman brillant !

An enjoyable bit of classic sleuthing and high profile murder with the delightful little Belgian. The words "Airplane Dagger" seem to lose meaning after a while as the murder weapon plays a deceptively large role in this peace... More than I'd have liked from the, at times dull witted, wandering eye that is Arthur Hastings. A good read.
