**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

I was a little unsure about his one within the first chapter. I stuck with it and I am so glad I did. It's rough, edgy and it has some of the hottest sex scenes I've read lately. Make You Burn is one HOT read.

Sean Harding, Ajax, one the VP of the Deacons of Bourbon Street MC receives a call telling him Priest his President is dead. Ajax doesn't hesitate to get on his bike and go back to a city he hasn't been to in ten years. When he left it was protect the brotherhood, now he's back to fight for it. Walking back into the club hangout, Priory, he feels like he's home. Sophie, Priest daughter, is all grown up and not the little girl he remembers.

Sophie adored her father but she hated the biker lifestyle. She grew up in the club and understood what that meant to those men. She was always off limits while Priest was around. Now with him gone, she doesn't stand a chance around Ajax and his rough, tough, and sexy ways.

I loved the "voice" the author gave Ajax. Sophie wasn't your typical heroine. She was filled with sass. They made a great combination and the chemistry was off the charts hot. I can't wait to see what's next!

I don’t easily read a new MC series by authors I never read before. I’m extremely picky when it comes to reading MC books so I was very worried when I started with this book. This series is written by a few different authors. I have to say this is the first time I read a book by this author. I really liked Ajax, but I did not love him. Ajax finds himself back to his hometown of New Orleans after the President of his MC passed away. That is after he was exiled from ten years by said president. I can definitely say that Ajax is al take charge, hot, sexy, alpha male.

I really enjoyed Sophie’s character. Now she’s the daughter of the former president of the MC. She’s also independent, strong, and has just about enough sass. She can dish it out as well as take it. Now this book as a real nice start to the Deacons of Bourbon Street. I think the only thing disappointing was when the story line picked up at one point, with the former president death might not be an accident, then it just kind of dropped off. I mean that was really disappointing. I wanted to know if he was really killed and who did it. When will we find this out because I’m not sure it will be explored further in this series? I also didn’t like the unanswered question of why the four best members of the MC got exiled all those years ago.

Make You Burn is almost all about the steamy, hot relationship between Ajax and Sophie. I kept hoping for more info on the club and that the plot was more developed. This book is an okay start for the series and I’m hoping the next book brings, at least some answers. This book just needed more for me!

Thanks Netgalley for a copy to read and review.

Loved it! Mom always used to say if you've got it, flaunt it. So when Sophie realizes her father is dead, she does... Flaunt it. In stripper high heals and pasties on her nipples, she walks the French quarter. Angry that her father left her and grieving. People do wierd shit when they grieve, so this really was no surprise. Ajax... Which is the brand name of a cleaner which is funny since he is a mercenary, comes back to town after he realizes Priest is dead. He is still VP of the deacons since no one else stepped up after he left ten years ago. I found that awfully odd but I guess since Priest went legit that made it okay. Overall though I was in it for the heat between Sophie and Ajax. Nuclear and even still as wild after a year together. Five stars!

Smoking hot with attitude

Glad I took the risk and bought this one. Well worth the read.

Motorcycles, strong men, stronger woman. Onto the second in the series.

I am a big Sons of Anarchy fan so of course I am drawn to motorcycle books. This one of course didn't disappoint. The presidents of the MC's daughter grows up and everyone takes notice, especially the VP that has been MIA for 10 years. The book overall was good and kept my attention, the only downfall was I didn't think the ending gave us a clear picture of what came about. *ARC received from publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Hot sex scenes, good copy-editing, had a hard time getting invested in male main character.

Not bad for a random romance pick at 12.30 am. Might have DNF'ed on a normal day because Ajax's asshole-ish ways were kind of OTT but luckily last night I was in the mood for OTT.

Books, Coffee & Passion

I don’t usually read MC books but when I read this blurb, I knew I had to read it because this series seemed different from the typical MC series. As it turned out, it really is. The Deacons of Bourbon MC haven’t been an active MC for 10 years. Sophie’s father, Priest, was the President of the club but he died in a motorcycle accident. 4 of the club’s members who were exiled 10 years ago, return for Priest’s funeral, including Ajax, the club’s former VP.

Ajax is a hardcore biker who returns to New Orleans as soon as he gets the news that Priest is dead. He wants to bring the Deacons back to their former glory and he wants to pay his respects to the man who was like a father to him. What wasn’t on his plans is his instant lust for Sophie.

Sophie lost her father and she’s grieving, but their relationship was far from perfect. Sophie hates the MC lifestyle and the way she was always second in her father’s heart. But she stays because she’s loyal to him and because she loves the bar he owns. She had a crush on Ajax when she was younger and when he gets back, she can’t resist him.

As the first book in this series, there’s a lot of questions that remain unanswered like the mystery around Priest’s death and why the MC’s top four members were exiled ten years ago.

Make You Burn is almost all about the steamy, hot relationship (very erotic, I might add) between Ajax and Sophie. I kept hoping for more info on the club and that the plot was more developed. It’s an okay story for the first book in the series. And I’m hoping the next book brings, at least, some answers.
