It was ok. Not bad but also nothing really exciting. I was very excited about it, being a huge fan of the Dresden files and this was being compared to it a lot. I can definetly see why people are comparing the two. Both have a male lead, who is good with magic and too witty for his own good. This book reminded me more of American Gods though. While both the Dresden files and iron druid have an interesting and excentive world building, iron druid for me felt a little bit lackluster. While I loved Atticus, he was really strong to start with and it didn't feel like he had any character arc whatsoever. Because he was so strong already it never feels like there is truly ar treat. Really loved Oberon though.

Good Start

This was an interesting, amusing read. I want to explore more of the urban fantasy world that the author has created. I liked this, but it was a bit wordy in a few places and the MC could be a lot at times. Still, recommended. I’ll be reading the sequel.

The beginning was bit cheesy, but not too bad. So I kept reading until the mediocre ending. There was no real buildup to the final battle and the weak plot was generally all over the place. The magic system felt like it was pulled out of an ass to suite the situation the druid found himself in at a time. characters were paper thin. Overall weak and short novel. Not worth continuing reading the series.

An enjoyable but flawed story. A fun, silly tone. But many of the characters didn't feel real enough. Too many modernisms in a 2000 year old.

Ok, it was a wild, quick read. It just had everything packed into it. *Everything*. So it suffered from the "Wait! Did I tell you about this cool thing?" style of story-telling.

It was fun and silly but because of anachronisms some characters just felt off. Maybe if I'm looking to turn off my brain I'll read another since it's a series.
