I love that the last two Kasie West books I choose to read end up being my favorites! I always enjoy her books. They're always super cute, and they're always super fun. Since I, dumb bitch extraordinaire, never know how any book is going to end, I enjoyed being confused about what the heck was going on here. Of course, if I actually ever read the synopses of books before reading them, I wouldn't have been as surprised as I would.
SpoilerBasically, I immediately assumed Frank would be the love interest because it seemed pretty typical of both YA contemporary and Kasie West. But then he was barely in it halfway through and I was like, "Is Frank for Alana because Kate is going to have Diego?" But like, bitch if I'd read the synopsis, this would have been obvious.
BUT this is also why I don't reread synopses before reading the books. Because I prefer going in blind and being surprised by things.

But yeah, super cute! I love Kasie West. I'll always read her books no matter how old I get. They're super light and cute and enjoyable.

I've also now officially read ALL her YA contemporary books!!!

I can always depend on these books to be a fun and quick read. I especially appreciated some of the other topics she touched on like bullying and assumptions.

3.5 stars maybe?

Not a huge fan of the miscommunication troupe, especially when the main character preaches about how most conflicts can be resolved with proper communication. I did like that the characters weren't unbearably whiney and did have some growth.

I know, I know - I have never rated a Kasie West book more than a two. So why do I keep listening to them?

Because the synopsis was really adorable and I get sucked back in. West books are fast paced, generally okay characters and simple writing. The plots are formulaic, like a romance novel. After two chapters, it's really not hard to predict each character's actions and or what's going to happen, but this makes it really easy to listen to at work.

Another fun Kasie West story! I can't wait for its release and to share it with my students who are also Kasie West fans.

To be quite honest, I have little to nothing to say about this book.

In true Kasie West fashion, it was a light, fluffy, read. Very little substance. Unnecessary miscommunication and high school drama.

Kasie West is definitely hit or miss for me. I have really enjoyed some of her books, and find there is an unexpected harder-hitting element.

Then there are these ones which are just cotton candy.

It is what it is. I will never remember this.

I read most of this book in about 24 hours and enjoyed every second! A sweet love story that was somewhat predictable but still fun to watch play out. Had a great level of depth for a high school romance and also had the lake, which was a wonderful bonus!

3.5** This was really cute and was exactly what I was looking for which was a cute, YA contemporary with very little substance. I thought it was a fun and well-told story. It was a tad predictable and ultimately not anything magical, but I have nothing terrible to say about it.

I was initially going to give this a 4 star BUT THIS WAS JUST SO FCKING EASY TO READ IT FEELS LIKE YOU'RE NOT READING AT ALL AND THE DIALOGUES ARE AMAZING AND I REALLY FELT LIKE I WAS THE MC IN THE WHOLE PROGRESSION OF THE BOOK THAT I JUST HAVE TO GIVE THIS THE SHONING 5 STAR. THIS IS SO AMAZING AND I WONT EVEN HAVE THE ENERGY TO PICK ON THE TEENIE WEENIE PEEVES. Well, except for the fact that the ending was quite extended. And I can't stop picturing Frank as Frank Zhang from Heroes of Olympus JUST BECAUSE IM TOTAL TRASH FOR IT. And also, this was soooo manipulative. I HATED IT AND I LOVED IT AND I WAS I DENIAL OF LOVING IT, AND NOW THERE GOES MY "ANALYTICAL REVIEW"/FANGIRL RANTS.

I HATE THE FACT THAT I GOT MANIPULATED BY THIS BOOK SO MUCH. This is my first Kasie West book and THIS SURELY WON'T BE MY LAST. I read this in 3 hours (which is very rare for me now due to my short attention span) AND IT WAS JUST HOMAYGAHHHHHDDD. FULL RTC later!

P.S. I can't stop replaying Listen to Your Heart by The Maine in my head while reading this hahahahah
