Main message of this book? Communication is key!

Silas and Kai know each other since they were young and lived through tough times.
Nevertheless they never openly talked about their feelings for each other and so both got hurt.
I suffered with Silas and Kai but I really liked this story, can't wait to read the next book of this series.

This had all the emotion that was missing for me in book one.

I loved Silas and my heart hurt for him when Kai ghosted him. I actually found myself having not much sympathy for Kai because he made his situation worse by never talking in twenty years and always running away when Silas tried to talk to him! You can't have your cake and eat it mate!!

What actually stopped me giving this five stars was the whole Tristan thing. It felt forced and then there was no resolution for his character, just far too many hints at something going on. I'm not really a fan of using a story as an advertising tool to build mystery and interest for another book or series when it has nothing to do with the book or the series that I'm reading. It doesn't intrigue me to hunt down a potential book about Tristan, it makes me frustrated that his presence allowed so many miscommunications between two people who are supposed to be ridiculously close. If there had been more explanation for why Tristan was even there he would have made more sense in the story, or if he was just a friend helping out Kai and not needing something from the arrangement it wouldn't have bugged me so much!

I am looking forward to finally finding out what's going on with Jack and Arlo in the final book of this series though.

Really didn’t care for Kai at all, he annoyed the crap out of me. Half my Kindle annotations include vents about how ridiculous he was. If it wasn’t for Silas, I might have DNF’d this around 65% when Kai was still being  beyond ridiculous. Silas really held this book, he was a solid character. Unlike B1 of the series, there weren’t many other side characters or other things going on, but I did like Tristan even though he threw off the plot. Interested to see where it goes with Arlo, he’s been interesting since B1.

Sooooo much pining! Kai and Silas have been best friends since they were 13 years old after Silas saved him from some bullies. He even helped Kai take care of his younger siblings when his mom was beating cancer. Kai saved Silas just as much by offering a safe haven at his house away from his bully of a father. Kai realized he was gay when he was a teen and realized he loved his best friend, but Silas had no idea and grew up straight. About 20 years later, they're both part of one of the world's biggest bands, Caffeine Daydreams.

Silas flirts and dances with Kai on stage because the fans love it, but it's torture for Kai as he gets teased on stage and then sees Silas leave with a different girl every night. Their last night on tour, they go too far on stage and Kai hits a breaking point, deciding he needs space from the codependency with Silas. From then on, it's a wild ride full of miscommunication, assumptions, fake partners and a major awakening for Silas. Hoo boy, the tension is insane!

🔥: It's a slower burn and all that pining leads to some very steamy scenes with these two. We get all the graphic details in medium-paced scenes.
😆: There are some moments of comic relief, but this one's dramatic af!
😭: I didn't cry with this one, but there are definitely some emotional moments and tough pasts these two work through. Plus, happy tears!!!!

Lark Taylor writes emotion so damn well. So much heartache and so much love!

CW: PTSD with nightmares on the page, discussion of past child abuse, caring for parent with cancer, poverty

I could not put this book down! Especially once Silas figured out his feelings for Kai after all those years. Their love wasn't easy or pretty but they did finally get their happily ever after. I am loving this series so much!

Green Light by Lark Taylor is the second book in the Caffeine Dreams series. This MM rockstar, bi awakening, best friends to lovers romance story is about Kai and Silas.

Kai and Silas have been best friends since they were kids. They didn't grow up in the best of neighborhoods, and they both had struggles they faced. Thank goodness they had each other to lean on and were there for one another no matter what. Kai has been in love with Silas for decades, but has kept it to himself. He truly has suffered in silence. It isn't until the last concert of their tour when a moment on stage changes everything. Kai distances himself and completely ghosts Silas. It leaves Silas confused and hurt, but it also makes him take a look at their friendship. He starts questioning his feelings for Kai along with his sexuality.

The pining, pain and hurt broke my heart, and I just kept rooting for them to figure it out. Kai and Silas were perfect for each other. Such a beautiful couple and an amazing story. I loved how it was different from the first book, but you find yourself invested in these characters just as much as you did with White Noise. I cannot wait for Arlo's story next!

I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest review.
