If the Hunger Games and Game of Thrones created a vampire-filled child, that would be The Serpent and the Wings of Night. Overall a really good read, multi-dimensional, flawed characters in a vast, danger-filled world. With minor amounts of smut (which I could do without tbh) the story keeps you guessing until the end. Points marked a bit down for the ending however, though I’ll have to check out the next book in the series to fully make my decision.

This book was pretty fun. I enjoyed reading it, but I wasn't itching to pick it up when I wasn't reading it. I thought the ending was... wild and not what I was expecting. I am curious about the second book but I don't know if I will like it.

I heard that if you like ACOTAR then you will like The Serpent and the Wings of Night. I can confirm! I was skeptical coming into this book but this turned out to be such an amazing read. I thought I knew how it would end but I was so surprised and delighted by the twists and turns. I can’t wait to read the next one.
