About the Book: Androids, replicants, have won their freedom, their place in the human society. But not their lives. Their life expectancy is a pittance of few years. Their memories remain mere fake implants, puny tales with a few cheap mementos to strengthen them. And they remain others in the eyes of the humans too. That’s bad in itself, yet it got worse as the dark market got hit by strange new false memories that drive androids insane, turn them violent, homicidal… This is something detective Bruna needs to uncover until it’s too late.
My Opinion: While not the best writing or even the story, it kept me entertained with the bite-sized pieces of lore, world building. Interesting characters, well paced intrigue that surrounds each one. Just good enough for me to be genuinely curious and excited for the next book.

My Opinion: While not the best writing or even the story, it kept me entertained with the bite-sized pieces of lore, world building. Interesting characters, well paced intrigue that surrounds each one. Just good enough for me to be genuinely curious and excited for the next book.

Realmente no lo termine pero tenia que cerrarlo y decir que si lo hice.
Le dare un 3 un puntaje neutral, el libro no me parece malo pero siento que no conectamos que no era para mi, NO PUDE MAS CON EL sentía que iba a causarme un bloqueo lector si me forzaba a seguir :( que pena que el primer libro que escogí de Rosa me pasara eso porque le tenia muchas ganas a ella...
Definitivamente leeré sus otros libros que no tengan nada que ver con temas futuristas o estén relacionados a este tipo de genero que no me gusto y me resulto tan pesado que me generaba sueño y pesadez de leer.
PARA RESALTAR: el mundo y los personajes creados se notan que están muy bien craneados y es por ello que seguía insistiendo en querer terminarlo y poder terminarlo, llegue un poco mas allá de la mitad pero la trama estaba un poco estancada y eso hizo que no diera...

This book was better than its writing. It offers a fairly good sci-fi detective story from the viewpoint of a Replicant. The emotional content is quite good, bordering on great. It's hard to say if some of the linguistic oddness is an artifact of its translation from Spanish or if the author is a bit clumsy at times. I feel like this universe and main character could use another book or two to flesh out. 3.5 stars (rounded up).

Este libro para mí fue novedad doble: leer por primera vez a Rosa Montero y leer por primera vez algo de ciencia ficción.
Ambas novedades me dejaron satisfecha.
Me gusta cómo Rosa Montero va integrando muchos de los problemas actuales en un futuro en donde los humanos conviven con más habitantes de otros planetas y con tecnohumanos (una especie de robots/humanos/clones), si bien la cuestión de género pareciera que ya se ha superado en este futuro, la supremacía especista viene a tomar su lugar y con ello nos damos cuenta que los problemas sociales basados en la intolerancia y la supremacía parecieran nunca terminar.
Bruna Husky me aprece un personaje fuerte y al mismo tiempo desvalido, me dan tantas ganas de abrazarla como la sensación de que al verla me daría miedo. Janis es otro de mis personajes favoritos de la historia por su amistad tal leal con Bruna.
No le doy cinco estrellas porque, aunque la trama me encantó, el final lo sentí muy flojo, falto de energía comparado con toda la historia. Sin embargo, sí es una serie que me dan muchas ganas de continuar y terminar.

The book starts with Bruna sleeping and her neighbour knocking on her door. However, this is only a bad beginning for Bruna: her ass will be kicked several times while she tries to investigate several deaths. A great noir story with replicants that occurs in a futuristic version of Madrid. Great reading and a page turning. I loved this book madly.
Bruna Husky no es una detective cualquiera, es una replicante: un ser creado artificialmente con una vida limitada para realizar tareas para los humanos. Bruna sabe que tiene poco tiempo y vive obsesionada con su muerte, pero tendrá que investigar las muertes de otros replicantes por un encargo. ¿Conseguirá sobrevivir a las palizas y las tramas que pondrán en su camino? Una lectura amena y apasionante en un Madrid futurístico con replicantes. Una de las lecturas más interesantes que he leído en mucho tiempo de un autor español. This comicbook is an adaptation of the novel by Rosa Montero. In its pages we will meet Bruna Husky, a replicant detective who is investigating the deaths of other replicants. She will find out that those deaths were linked but, will she survive to find the truth? The plot condenses the novel in a great way and the drawing is just perfect for this story. I really enjoyed this version.
Leí el cómic después de haber terminado la novela de Rosa Montero, para evitar destripes de la historia y para poder comparar ambas historias. La adaptación es realmente sobresaliente, teniendo los cambios justos para darle una buena velocidad a la trama del cómic y apoyándose fuertemente en el dibujo para dar algunas informaciones (por ejemplo el uso de las pantallas de televisión). Sobresaliente el trabajo gráfico de Alessandro Valdrighi ya que reconozco a los personajes de la novela tal y como los había imaginado. Una buena lectura.
