nope. no. sadly—i didn't like this. not the tiniest bit, which is sincerely a shame after the high /pos “niccolaio andretti” gave me. as a matter of fact, the previous full length novel in this series was the whole reason why i decided to read “ranieri andretti”—despite it being a novella, something i don't usually fuck with.
i don't know, i guess the style and just about anything about them really isn't my cup of tea—because i'm, like, 10% into “bastiano romano” as of right now and pretty much having the time of my life. or maybe my dislike for this book was solely ranieri—i don't know for how much longer i'll be able to put up with this lame ass names, by the way—and carina's fault. maybe it was the friends to lovers' fault. who knows, at this point?
the plot per se was a bit farfetched at times, that's for sure. well, whatever. i guess that the only thing that truly matters at this point was that, one way or another, i managed to get through the nth disappointing book and was rewarded with a better one—hopefully...

This book was good. I generally struggled with so many going back in time moments but they were needed in this story. I do wish this wasn't a novella because there were so many areas this could have been expanded on. It a!so would have allowed me to get more invested in the story.

That being said, I still liked it, just not as much as the previous books.

I'm a sucker for a second chance romance. Ranie and Camila were just like Romeo and Juliet and that story line fit so well. I usually don't love romances where the boy pushes the girl away for her own good, but for some reason this one worked. Maybe it was the mafia influence, it made it a little more real for me instead of just a kid thinking he knew what was best for the girl he loved. I really like novellas, and usually am happy with the size of them, but I did find myself wanting a little more of these two.

I love this series!

I hated Rainie in the other stories. He’s was bitter, angry and hated his brother for something he did to protect Rainie. He was hard headed and angry! I guess now we know why! Carina... she’s brave and strong, but sad... and when she sees Rainie again after so many years, she’s torn and sad. He was her best friend and he dumped her unceremoniously all those years ago. She didn’t understand then, and doesn’t now, but she wants him back, and he’s determined to have her back. She won’t give in until she knows why... and he’s not telling.

What happens? You’ll not get that from me here... but I will tell you that it’s worth reading about. If you read Nicholiao Andretti, and wondered about his brother after what you read there, read this book! You’ll love it!

I can't give it more than that because for a novella it was great! The pacing was amazing, I didn't feel like things were too rushed, but I WANTED MORE!

I hate novellas for that reason, why can't we get more, I loved Ranie and Carina, they were cute and the angst they had was great! I wish it was more of a story like the others, but I will take what I can get. I am loving the series so far! Can't wait to see what the other guys have to go through with their sassy ladies!

Short, fun and oh my, Ranieri is a dream! I almost didn’t read it, but what a waist would’ve been! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars for this one! I finished it in like two hours

Parker S. Huntington certainly knows how to deliver an amazing mafia romance. With her first two releases, I was entranced, and thought, a novella, will it be as good? Let me tell you, she blew this story out of the water! Her second chance romance for Ranieri and Carina is so good, I got completely lost in it. They are childhood friends, caught up in family matters. When their relationship is severed, it looked like there was no hope for either of them. But will they find their way back to each other? Ranieri is mentioned in previous books, and his personality is strong, and ruthless. But this book shows an entirely different side to the man. Carina is strong willed, independent and so guarded. Emotionally charged, I felt the everything while listening, All the longing, the hurt, the frustration and passion these two share is so compelling, it's impossible not to root for their happiness. As part of a series, there are characters we see overlap, which I absolutely love, but the best part is you can definitely listen as a standalone(though I don't recommend it, you don't want to miss the other books!) Add in new characters like Brody and Carina's father and you have a listen you do not want to miss.

Parker picked a winning team to narrate this story. With duet narration, Jeremy York and Desiree Ketchum bring the story to life. It's amazing how much a narration can affect a story, and these two give all the feels, inflections and passion to the characters. Amazing emotional tugs that just enhance the listen and make for a great afternoon!

A beautifully flawed second-chance romance. I would have loved a little more exposition to clarify some lesser plot points, but other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
