This was an almost read in one sitting book, it was fast paced, clever, tense, full of good characters, and enough humour thrown in to make it seem like real people.
To be honest, labelling the book "William Fawkes 1" is a clue that there is probably going to be another Wolf book (can't wait),but even that didn't stop me thinking it REALLY might be him, when the signs were pointing that way.
Nicely inventive murders and cracking plot,I look forward to meeting these guys again.

Start taking the Ragdoll tour here Ragdoll locations not for the faint hearted!

Buy this book. Highly recommended! Serious palpation inducing mind….and this is a London you’ve never seen before. And next time you see one of the street performers dotted around the capital in a mask……

It’s been a while since I’ve read a book that I not only didn’t want to put down, I couldn’t. It was as if it were stitched to my hands which given the premise of the book, gives you the idea of how this book is horrifically addictive.

OMG so good and brilliantly "put together" sorry but it's true.

I received a copy of this book free from the publisher via Netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review.

Even though the characters were somewhat flat/clichéd, the plot was really fast-paced and intriguing, which made for a great reading experience. The ending was a bit far-fetched for me, but overall I enjoyed the book, and I might pick up the next one when it comes out.

Great read! It was straight into the gritty drama and the pace didn’t let up all the way through. The characters were strong and it was quite some journey we all went on together to find the Ragdoll murderer!

I’ll be looking forward to the sequel coming out this year.

This was a British police procedural novel. What I didn't care for- The MC Wolf is so stereotypical of other crime novels-handsome, middle aged, rogue detective that is coming back from a suspension. Women are drawn to him (and his big ego) and end up basically competing with each other over him(puke). Enter his beautiful ex-wife/reporter who still cares for him, but for furthering her career at his expense more. Enter his younger, pretty work partner- she has issues, and their relationship is complicated. She also swoons for him of course. What I really liked- the concept surrounding the killer/killings, I felt like it was different. I liked the way they used the Faustian angle of selling your soul to the devil, alongside the ragdoll murders themselves. The author created a great, believable, calculated antagonist. The author also knew how to set the mood with the rainy, dark atmosphere. All in all, it was decent crime novel. I don't know though if I care enough about the main characters to continue with the series.

Brutal, gory and gritty – everything I love in a crime thriller! Wolf is a flawed and wonderfully human character, struggling with the emotional damage from his last case. The crimes are intelligent and the story is full of action. I can’t wait to read the next in the series.

Detective William Oliver Layton-Fawkes, better knows as Wolf, has been called to a crime scene around the corner from his new flat. There's one body suspended from the ceiling but it's made up of six victims and one of the hands is pointing at Wolf's flat window. His former wife contacts him and gives him photos that the killer had sent her of the body - sent before the police discovered it. She has also been sent a list of future victims and when they're due to die - Wolf is last on the list. What follows is a race against time to find all those on the list and keep them safe, to identify this six original victims and what connects them and to track down the killer dubbed the "Ragdoll Killer" by the press. Fast paced and gripping from the start this has got to be one of the best books I've read this year.
