Me: reserved, still learning to open my heart to a bigger circle of people. Still learning about my capacity to give and love.

it took me while to be into this book mainly because it doesn't feel like a continuation of saint and misfits. i was expecting something different than what was happening when this book started.

that being said, i still loved this book. and i absolutely love janna's character just as i did in saint and misfits. maybe even more. i can totally relate with her character in this book, to the point where i bawled my eyes out because we were in similar places and had similar thoughts.

adam and zayneb attending the nikah also put a smile on my face. i didn't expect zayneb would have a big appearance. she was even interacting with janna! i really thought she (and adam) was just gonna be mentioned.

what i also totally didn't expect was sausun and haytham! i'm not opposed to reading a novella about them [eye emoji]

Well, all I'm going to say is this: Let there be all kinds of love.

Misfits in love was such a cute book. But it only took place in the span of a couple days so it felt slow here and there.
But i loved ALL the characters and i LOVED seeing Zaynab and Adam!!
I would LOVE to read a book about Sausun. And i wished i had these books when i was a teen myself.

this is more so a 3.75 maybe a four stars???

I will say this book is a bit better than the first one, and I really enjoyed the story that S.K. Ali chose. I also appreciated seeing Janna grow as a character, especially now that she is attending college. Some moments I relate to her in terms of figuring yourself in your character, relationships, and her sense of justice. I think Ali could be one of my favorite authors in general, but in regards to telling stories about being authentically Muslim, I'd say she is a favorite within that aspect without a doubt. It was nice seeing an adamzayneb cameo in the story as well (prob gonna reread their books).

This was way more lighthearted than Saints and Misfits, and I feel like the book suffered for it. The book was fun, and I'm happy that faith-positive Muslim books are finding an audience, but I am of the opinion that Saints and Misfits didn't really need a sequel.

There were way too many characters, so no one experienced noticeable growth. The plot line also dragged on and on- you really needed to love these characters in order to love this book. And I just didn't.

Overall, it had some fun parts but was bogged down by lack of character depth and a slow plot.

'twas a nice binge read i think for a lovely rainy afternoon. i still don't really like janna, i was expecting her to have grown a bit but for the entire first half of the book she's running after nuah mindlessly. but then she actually does grow, i found myself enjoying the latter half of the book. my fave character was layth and i'm so glad he has a life-action-purpose plan for himself and he's going to live by his principles despite what everyone else thinks! i know this book was about janna and love and blah blah but i was really in it for layth tbh.

Just had a very different vibe than the first one - more focused on the romance which I didn’t care for. Realized it’s not really for me and I’d rather stick to just the first book.
