This book was amazing, so gripping, so perfectly put together and I loved every second of it!
Maggie wakes up in hospital after being in a coma absolutely terrified because she can’t remember a thing. She’s been in an accident, her daughter died and her husband left her. She’s know idea how any of this happened but she’s going to try her hardest to work it out.
It’s written so well that you feel everything Maggie is feeling, it’s hard to read because you so want everything to be okay but you just don’t know if it will be, but that’s also what made me so addicted to it. I did not want to stop reading!
No spoilers but another thing that I adored was how much it plays with your head, I didn’t know what was real and what wasn’t half the time. You couldn’t trust anyone.
I kinda caught on to the end about two thirds in, but I didn’t expect as much as we got at all, it’s was so twisty and shocking and just brilliant!!
Definitely recommend to any thriller lover!

Holy frogs!
This book, I think is quite easy to say this book is going to be one of my top books of the year. It was phenomenal. I didn’t twig for so long about one of the twists in the book. It just shocked me. This whole book has shocked me and it has broken me. Just everything about this book was simply just amazing. I don’t quite know how I’m going to review this. It was just absolutely fantastic.
I felt everything for Maggie from the beginning. From the second she woke up from the accident to find out the truth. You just couldn’t help but be affected by what she was going through. It wasn’t clear what the secret was but then when you find out the secret, as much as I think I was expecting a bigger reveal, it was absolutely earth-shattering. I didn’t expect that until something clicked, I can’t really say too much but yeah, something clicked.
You have the story of Maggie after her accident trying to piece her life together, figuring out what was going on and what was true. You have someone writing letters and that broke me. Those letters broke me. I can’t stop crying as I write this. As I say, quite simply this book was just phenomenal. I don’t really know what words to give you. It’s a book that’s gonna stay with me for a long time. It was just unreal.
It’s definitely a book you need to read. Nuala’s writing is phenomenal. I know I keep saying that word, but it was just fantastic. She sucks you in with this seemingly straightforward storyline. I can tell you now it’s anything but straightforward, the dots cannot be connected until you’re allowed them to be connected. Maybe someone else might have picked them up quicker than I did, I was a bit slow on the uptake I was listening to the audiobook and I was getting a bit distracted by Tara Fitzgerald’s voice. I just I was hooked on a story and I blitzed this audiobook and pretty much two and a half days.
I just wanted to know what was going to happen. I wanted to know Maggie’s secret. I wanted to know what was going on with Maggie. I wanted the truth. I just didn’t expect the truth that we got and the ending although it was satisfying. It got me, it made me sob. That final bit got me.
I’m looking forward to reading Nuala’s other book. I think she’s got an amazing writing style that makes the stories more real and they completely hit home. The storylines themselves are quite hard in this book. It was hard. It was horrible to hear what one person was going through. The fact that you know the things happened, made it just all that more real. Just when you learn the truth about the day of the accident Wow. I think I need a few more tissues. Just fantastic and you need to read it.

Brilliant outstanding. One of the best thrillers I've read in a long time.

The narrative commences with great potential, yet there exist certain elements that render the storyline somewhat implausible, thus compromising its overall credibility.

Wow. I loved this book that I devoured it in a few days.
It throws you straight into the story where Maggie is waking up from a coma to find out her daughter is dead and her husband has vanished.
The book flicks between past and present tense, where we learn more about Maggie, the accident and her secrets the further we get into the book.
The story follows Maggie as she tries to regain her memory & piece together what actually happened that fateful night, the chapters are split up by letters form a daughter to her mum begging her to come and get her. The daughters identity is hidden, and you question all throughout the book who the daughter is? Is she Elspeth who apparently died? Is she Maggie herself as a child?
Incidents with old friends add fuel to the fire in terms of theories building, is Maggie all that she seems?
A brilliant story, and despite my many theories I was well off the mark, it’s easy to read the main character is easy to connect to and as a parent myself I felt her pain and grief.
