Surprisingly little character development for the length of book this is. Mary is hardly a different person at the end of the book than at the beginning, she is just in different circumstances: she wears more-fashionable dresses and has finally met a man who likes that she is bookish and intellectual and doesn’t mind that she wears glasses. I would say it was a light, fun read, but it was way too long for that.

Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books of all time, and I was pleasantly surprised by this book.
I did feel at times like there was a lot of filler in this book that wasn't necessary, but overall quite enjoyed it.

I love this continuation of the Bennet family story. I consider this charming and beautiful story cannon. This story give a redemption to every written off character and dignity to every person who feels overlooked and invisible.
