My favorite thing about this book is that, when Lindsey, Beth, and Carrie are in danger of getting hypothermia, they perform fingerplays to keep themselves warm. I also love the argument between Lindsey and Ms. Cole about whether to back-date the bookdrop check-ins on the first day open after a blizzard. The mystery was more compelling in this second book, but it was really secondary to all the insider references to the world of public libraries, which are the main reason I enjoy this series.

Well I'm having a good old social distancing time reading cozy mysteries! I like this Library Lover's Series a lot, I've read 3 of them so far. In this one, we get to experience the arrival of Heathcliff the dog and I just loved reading about Lindsay growing fond of him and deciding to keep him. And now at this point I know the characters of Lindsay, Sully, Beth, Nancy et al pretty well and like keeping up with their goings on. As with most (honestly) cozies, the mystery story is kind of far-fetched and wasn't too hard to guess, but that's fine. These books to me are like comfort food for my brain and soul during these tough times.

I had to stay up late to finish this book, something I rarely do. I loved the addition of a dog to the series. He is so cute on the cover and quite adorable during the story. The library and its cast of characters continued to be great in this book. Several key things happened which I think will propel the series forward.

This series is just getting better and better and now there’s a puppy!? Couldn’t put this book down! And as a future librarian I also feel like I’m getting career and school information and love it!

I love her books! :) And I don't mind figuring out "who done it" as long as it's an interesting read!

The story is fine, the puppy is fun, the characters are developing nicely. But…the crochet pattern at the end?? Nope. All kinds of nope. I hope future patterns are better written AND tested because there’s ZERO chance someone tested it as written and didn’t provide feedback that it needed help.

The plot's better than the first but my annoyance level is also higher. I'll start with the bad part. These are educated people, they're librarians. The fact that they don't seem to know the difference between "can" and "may" is extremely annoying, as that problem repeatedly crops up in the story. There are other grammar issues that compound the annoyance. If the author and editors aren't literate, they need to get some help to make the characters sound real.

The story is better. Of course, today, all mystery characters need a pet and this is no different. Fortunately, the dog isn't overwritten as in many series. Lindsey and the team are getting ready for a library book sale event, a major winter storm hits, and there's murder (I know, shocked, 'eh?). This story is more consistently logical than the first and the relationship with Sully moves forward.

The only other issue is the one with all romance books, you automatically know which suitor is the bad guy.
