This was the sluttiest thing I’ve ever read. Woah. I picked it up as a joke and got sucked in. I did not at all expect to read a 105 chapter book in a week or less. This is not for the faint of heart and I had no clue what I was in for. There are many kinks that I didn’t know about or arn't interested in but it held my attention. The writing is honestly meh, it was cringy and sappy and kind of stupid but I can’t say I didn’t kind of love it in the end. The characters are well rounded and their own individual people which is appreciated. And while our main character annoyed me a few times I warmed to her too. What a wild ride.

I would say this book is like 80% sex and 20% hockey. Some chapters its just sex after sex after sex, and as someone who loves a bit of smut, it was a little too much at times. It felt like they had sex sometimes just to have sex and it didn't really add much to the plot.

Poor Caleb, man. He kept getting the short end of the stick.

Rachel cries too easily. The zodiac stuff was annoying.

I think Jake was left out of some sex scenes for no reason...like Mars and Caleb definitely got more action than him—but Jake arguably had more of a connection to Rachel.

Anyway, it was a fun and cute read. The first 20 or so chapters made me want to pull my hair out with how emotional Rachel was...and how she kept calling Caleb "daddy"...and the stuttering. But it got better.

Caleb is revealed to be queer at the beginning of the book, but it doesn't come into play until around 50% of the way in. Definitely thought the author made him gay just to have a gay character and be "inclusive", but I'm glad it actually went somewhere and was useful to the plot.

VERY sex positive.

I was excited for a spicy hockey romance, but unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark. While I appreciated the representation of Bisexual and Queer characters, I struggled to connect with any of the characters. The abundance of spice became repetitive, and the length of the book left me wishing for a quicker pace. Overall, while it may appeal to fans of spicy romances, it fell short of my expectations that were hyped up by so many on Bookstagram and Booktok.

EMILY RATH WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO TO ME???
I wish I would have read this book sooner but at the same time I wish I never read it so I could experience it for the first time again. The feelings between the characters in this book are unreal, I love Rachel & Caleb & Jake & Ilmari so fckn much. THIS BOOK MADE ME FEEL ALL THE FEELS, MY GOD. I started with the audio & immediately bought a physical copy to cherish because the audio wasn't enough, I needed them together & I will be writing in my physical copy when I re read, which honestly I could just start re reading it tomorrow even tho I just finished it today. THIS BOOK GETS ALL THE STARS & I WILL NEVER RECOVER FROM IT. It's literally my favorite book I've ever read!!!! Pls excuse me while I go buy all the book merch now!
