It was okay.
A well traveled route, man unable to 'love' due to mommy and daddy issues and woman who has given up on finding her HEA after a divorce (cheating husband).
It has an added extra, he works away in dangerous situations related to his issues and they have met before.
Bit predictable but if you like this sort of story then it's fine.

Liz and Grant meet in Nairobi, Africa. Liz is there working with Doctors without Borders healing a broken heart after a failed marriage. Grant is there as a reporter. There is an instant connection between these two and when Liz boards a train going home thinking Grant is joining her she gets a text from him saying he's not joining her. What a jerk!

Liz goes on with her life but is facing a life changing choice of possible having an IVF. Her sister and sister-in-law are both pregnant and she is feeling a little hollow.

Grant and her cross paths again and she has a no string attached proposal for him.

He has to decide what his future is going to hold.

I really like the way the author writes. I felt the anquish that Liz went/going through and I also felt the turmoil that Grant was going through. I love these two characters together.

If you love contemporary secondary chance at love stories. This one is for you. I actually would consider this one a third chance at love story.

Busy doctor meets international journalist in this quick, sexy read from Miranda Liasson. And when I say quick, I mean finished in one sitting in a couple of hours. I couldn’t stop!

You know when you’re reading a romance and you just want to scream and huff because you just want them to KISS ALREADY? That was me from about 10% in. It was painful. But that’s a sign of good chemistry, right? The sizzling undercurrent continued throughout the book, growing stronger and stronger, with enough heat to make me want to open a window on this cool, rainy, autumn day in London.

If I were a doctor, I’d prescribe this book as an emergency pick-me-up. With equal parts wit, charm, warmth, and fire – all packaged in under 200 pages – it certainly does help in a pinch! This review was originally posted on Love in a time of Feminism

I enjoyed Liz and Grant's story--a sweet second chance romance with a baby surprise ;)

Liz was a strong character, knowing what she wanted and doing what she could to get it for herself all by herself (well, as by herself as she could, anyway!) I would have liked her to have felt less conflicted about telling her family the truth, though--not that I blame her at all for hesitating, but I wanted her to own it sooner than she did in the end. Still, she's a great character, and it's easy to root for her from the very first page.

Plus, she's got an awesome rescue dog--how can you not love her?

Grant, Grant, Grant...I wasn't too sure about him at first, but he won me over :) The scenes with him and the males in Liz's family were absolutely priceless, and oh, that ending...

A great addition to the series, this one would work fine as a standalone too (confession time--I've only read book #1 so far--[b:A Man of Honor|30056748|A Man of Honor (Kingston Family, #2)|Miranda Liasson|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1461951872s/30056748.jpg|50467867] is still waiting on my TBR!)

If you want a book that makes you feel then I recommend this one.

Elizabeth Kingston has spent the time after her divorce taking care of her OB patients. If she stays busy then that leaves her little to no time to fall in love or relax. She did allow herself an affair while working in Africa with Doctors Without Borders and that ended in heartbreak for her. Due to a health issue, she is running out of time to have a baby so she has chosen to try IVF. She just has to find the right donor.

Grant Wilbanks is a international TV journalist who has returned to renovate his Aunt's house while waiting out his punishment after a issue in Kenya. He hasn't forgotten Elizabeth and regrets hurting her in Africa. He just isn't a person who can live a settled life. He thrives on adventure and the fast pace of journalism. She has asked him to be her donor with no strings attached.

This is a story about second chances and learning to appreciate what is right in front of you. I truly enjoyed every moment.
