Takeaway: We need the actual gospel more than a bunch of Bible-based tips.

Also good for Dads who are involved in the home and with their kids. Most of the lessons and points cross over pretty easily.

I listened to this book, but I think it is better suited to being read. Gloria references so many Bible verses and lists off so many points that I think if someone were to sit and slowly go through the book, meditating on the Gospel truth, they would benefit more from the content. I did retain several things that spoke to me, I'll just list them out for my own memory's sake. 1) Welcome complications. 2) Are they breaking God's law or my law? 3) We love because God loves us. God doesn't go around asking us if we recognized his love. 4) Sacrifice (bitter) vs privilege (positive).

I've read many books about motherhood and this is by far one of the (if not THE) best I've ever read.

This is the best book I have ever read on motherhood. It won't teach you how to get your baby to sleep, or change a nappy, or when to start feeding them solids, but it WILL teach the purpose of doing all those things, and how to give yourself a bit of grace when navigating the sometimes overwhelming path of mum-hood. Put it on your list, and if you're ever feeling defeated, pick it up and re read it again.

Simple words grasping and taking hold of Christ centered theology. Redirecting and encouraging Mothers in all walks of life to grasp the Gospel and make it practical. I really enjoyed the practical and simple examples I could relate too ( midnight feedings and spit up anyone?). Examples of common day occurrences that can redirect my focus on Christ. Appreciated the short chapters and how it was an "easy" read packed with so much truth and encouragement.
