I loved this story!! I don’t typically read fantasy but to see ancient legends and stories interwoven with a beautiful love story set in Scotland was incredible!!
I loved the characters of Fable and Alder, and even the secondary characters as well. There was something so poetic and enchanting about this story and the power of true love and how it can transcend from time even through different chapters of time. This was my first book from Adriane Leigh and I can’t wait to read more of her work and the future books in this series!

I received this as an arc for my honest review

This is the first book by Logan Chance that I’ve ever read and it won’t be the last. It took me a while to get really into the book but when I did, I just didn’t want to put it down. It’s exciting and steamy with a lot of surprises along the way. I really loved it.

Logan's books never disappoint me. Every time when I start his new book I can't leave it until I finish it. This one is not an exception, it is captivating, smokin' hot, fast paced, romantic suspense. Even it is part of a series, it can be read as single one. Dean Maddox and Sophia Rossi gave me a good ride while they were trying to reach their goals with tons of twists, turns, suspense, intrigue, and oh where they go and get into...
I can't decide what genre I like the most from Logan's books, they are all perfect and I thoroughly enjoy reading every single one.

3.5 stars. The female lead is strong and focused, working to overcome trauma of her past by focusing on revenge. The male lead is focused on success, ignoring the actions of his employers whilst he executes their requests. Honestly, neither of these characters really spoke to me but their interactions were engaging and their relationship development was coherent.

The story is dual POV, well written and edited, with a strong overarching plot line that will carry forward to future stories in the series.

ok lol
pacing was wacky, and i perhaps find some of the reactions to near-death experiences... slightly? forgiveable? nah i change my mind they were so mild and one-and-done to the point that even the contrivance can't justify it.

and that epilogue pissed me off. you seriously let him do what he wanted over the person to whom the most harm was done??? ridiculous. can't believe it was the quick end rather than the far better alternative

language was pretty tho. the attempted sciences had me uhhhhh annoyed in the way of suspension of disbelief. but still the language was pretty. didn't make me like the book tho.

Well, this was a good surprise, it's an original story idea, where Fable and Adler will steal your heart. Their journey was so entertaining I couldn't put it down, this magical world was fantastic, I really liked the pacing and how the author built the story. There are so many twists and mysteries that will capture your attention and you can't simply put it down. The couple's chemistry and relationship were so good. I strongly recommend it if you like paranormal fantasy suspense.

What did I just read? I felt like I was in a dream state the entirety of this story. It all started coming together as Fable starts reading the stories that Keats, the keeper of the house, recommends. Fable, our main character, is there to find her long lost great-aunt and learn about her heritage, this is not a vacation. This is not anything you will not find out in reading just the blurb, but you cannot stop there. You will need to dive into the deep end of the fairy pools and search deep into your emotions to get through this story. There is a lot of love in this story, not only with Fable, but with all the characters in the stories of the book she is reading. The Scottish Highlands add an ethereal quality to the words on the page, and the haunting nature of the seaside village and surrounding cliffs of Skye are bound to keep you on edge. I will be honest that I almost set this story to the side, but I kept going knowing the author was leading me somewhere, and I am glad I pursued the ending.

If you're looking for a book doused in riddles, romance, mystery, and pain based in Scotland then this is the book for you. This book seems to have been written poetically, with the perfect amount of mystery and supernatural mixed in. Half the time I was reading the book I spent it frustrated yet intrigued. Every character seemed to speak in riddles that began to make sense as Fable Prescott began to unfold the mysteries of the past and the present.

Fable Prescott is a college student who has found the perfect opportunity to finally uncover the mystery of her great aunt's death. And as a way to feel closer to her grandmother Mary after Fable was given some letters she had written but never sent. Taking advantage of the opportunity she has received to do her thesis on the evolution of biology within a historical context, she sets out on her journey to Scotland. The moment she arrives at Kylemore, Isle of Skye, she is welcomed with a warning. One she decides to not put too much mind to and continue to her destination to her temporary home at Leith Hall and Heathermoor Abbey, where she will have to find the truths in the lies that surround the walls of the Hall.

There she meets Keats the caretaker of Leith Hall and Alder a man who saves her from the currents of the loch. As she begins to try to solve the murder of her great aunt Beth, Keats tells her to read a specific book, Legends And Lovers, that will help her uncover and understand the history and folklore of the Isle of Skye. She soon begins to realize that the world is not as she believed and the souls stuck in the walls of the Hall, all have stories to tell and she must learn to read between the pages of the book. And the answers to the love lost between two souls for generations and the pain they had to endure to finally be together.

It took me a bit to understand what was happening to the point that I sometimes wanted to grab a notebook and write down each clue every time a new riddle was given to Fable. But once it all became clear it made reading the book completely worth it. It kept me intrigued the entire time. The only problem I had was that it could be a bit at times and it was hard to keep up, but I enjoyed reading the book a lot.
