While I liked the concept/premise of 'Infidel', I was a little mixed on some elements of the artwork, some of the gaps in the story and character arcs/events.

The story is a good solid scare. The artwork/imagery was goddamned terrifying!
If I read it right, the introduction says a movie is being made. I hope it does the book justice.

Great horror novel with excellent placement of horror images in the art. Follows a group of characters in a building that had a previous incident which affects the present-day conversation. The mixed races and religions of the characters have foreground placement and add interesting conversations to the horror element.

Infidel is a great limited series combining compelling art with excellent writing to tell a different kind of haunted house story: a harrowing story about racism and discrimination today. The book is filled with complex characters, no two-dimensional villains or stereotypes, and utilizes multiple styles of art to tell a compelling narrative. I will say that a few parts of the plot seemed a bit vague and the last two chapters felt rushed, this story might have benefitted from a longer run, but overall I found it to be enjoyable, even while thought-provoking. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was fine. The art style was good and the story had something to it, but nothing felt particularly fleshed out. Certainly not enough suspense and a lot of peripheral stories alongside the main story. I think this had potential, but ultimately it left a lot to be desired.

I really liked this until it fizzled out in the end.

This book is genuinely scary- I loved how intentionally the layout was designed, especially the “jump scares” with set-ups and reveals separated by page turns. I liked the shift between photo-realism and a more drawing style during flashbacks, which was not only a visual clue that we were in a flashback, but also gave the impression that these memories were slightly less real than the present, which I thought was an interesting touch. All in all, the art, colors, layout, and writing were all so good on their own, but they also worked together to create an atmospheric and creepy story that has something interesting to say.
