Lyrical novel in verse about an intense friendship between two girls, that turns into a dysfunctional relationship. Quick read, some language, for fans of Ellen Hopkins books.

You hate the cold and I love it,
but I love you more.
So always, even ih winter, I pray for heat
It's kinda like those wlw poems on TikTok but more poetic

“You were never going to love me the way I needed to be loved. Without fear. Without hesitation. But with the kind of intensity that was hopeful as it was hopeless”

This book touched me in a way too close to home. And to be honest I’m not a fan of prose, but this one was surprisingly good + the combo kindle/audiobook was very pleasant.

Lyrical sapphic codependent love story between two black teen girls. The writing style was lovely, the romance was bittersweet.
