three of these stars are literally just for the affirmation and INFORMATION Maisie Hill has here.

I definitely think it’s the sort of book in which you get to pick what works for you. For example, there’s a small section on the book on BPA & endocrine blockers. While I understand this might be a huge no-no for some folks, I just don’t think it’s in my best interest to be worried about things like that.

The most impactful piece of this for me was just learning what the hell is actually happening in my body during my cycle & the practical, simple ways I can support those processes.

You gotta read this whether you’re menstruating or trying to get your cycle back or trying to conceive or literally just if you’re curious about the science behind your hormones.

Everyone with a period should read this book! It was educational but very accessible and practical at the same time. It validated how I feel during different moments of my cycle, and inspired me to learn more about myself through the cycle strategy. I can see myself re-reading this book at different stages of life as well. I do wish it was more evidence-based, as many of the author's suggestions seemed rooted in anecdotes and limited research which reduced the credibility of some of her advice. I also felt there was limited mention of social determinants that impact a person's experience of a period.
