Picked this up because of how much I love [b:Saga|22078240|Saga Book One|Brian K. Vaughan|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1488583342s/22078240.jpg|41414790]. As it turns out, I'm not nearly as big of a fan of Y.

I miss Fiona Staples' gorgeously irreverent art and vivid colors... I miss the space-faring freedom of adventure... versus Y, which seems muted and restricted by comparison.

I definitely see similar dynamics and characters interactions in Y, but it's so much more fully realized in Saga.

Everyone must bow down to Brian K. Vaughan. It seems like he's writing only best sellers. This is one of his older series, I discovered him through Saga, but I'll definitely be reading anything else he has to offer.

A creative and interesting premise: After a mysterious catastrophe single male on earth just suddenly drops dead. And now women have not only to deal with the emotional trauma, chaos, and devastation left behind but find a way to re-organize the world after half of its population has died.

The story is well written and thought-provoking, well scripted and the artwork is pleasant. However, a lot of the decisions and plot developments just don't make that much sense to me. Additionally, the main character Yorick, the actual last man on earth is so very dumb, annoying, and judgmental, and so high and mighty that I was fighting the urge to skip his dialogue bubbles.

Still, it is an interesting premise so I am curious to proceed with the series and see what develops.

More like a 3.5. The premise is great and I really love some of the characters but this collection of the first ten issues got off to a rocky start and didn't really pick up for me until near the end. I do like Yorick but I wish that he would stop throwing himself into danger like a jackass. It's selfish and he's making things hard for poor 355.

Before I read this, I had no idea what it was about, but I read another by Brian K Vaughan that I really liked, which is why I chose it. Brian has a gift for humour in his graphic novels whilst maintaining a great plot line and suspense. Really enjoyed.

Cringe dialogue from the early 2000s that is definitely not for everyone. Premise is simple enough and I enjoyed the main characters. Will definitely finish this series!

Thoroughly entertaining. I was worried that the "last man" concept would just be an excuse for the author to just have every woman want him, but it wasn't like that at all. It was much more apocalyptic, and there are many interesting characters here that I would like to know more about.
