this book was everything to read and enjoy for fall / autumn weather. i absolutely adore both chase and meredith from the beginning of this story. you can tell chase instantly loved meredith from day one. i felt bad for her since she had to navigate her life without her mother but she had her service dog with her.
meredith's dad nearly pissed me off for breaking in right after chase left to go to the fire. i thought her dad was going to kill max but thankfully max survived but was looking for meredith. my heart was nearly broken when meredith almost died. but chase and meredith had my heart throughout this book that i want their love. definitely such a fast paced book that i enjoy.

Talk about a fast-paced book. It felt like there was so much that could have been delved into but there was no stopping.
I would have loved more of Chase’s backstory. And Meredith even. It felt so rushed. Granted I loved the concept of the story, I feel like it could have been fleshed out more. Not every book needs to be 300+ pages, but I feel like I needed more from this.
Still a decent story.
