This book is nothing particularly groundbreaking, but it was the quick, Christmassy, light-suspense-with-a-happy-ending story I was looking for. I dragged it out a few days, but this would be an easy book to finish in one sitting on Christmas Eve.

This was certainly not spectacular literature but it was fun and kept my attention. Super predictable and a little too “if you believe in prayer, nothing bad will ever happen to you” but still an enjoyable suspense!

I don' t particularly recommend Silent Night as a holiday read--especially not as a secular Christmas story--but I suppose it might be an emotional book for anyone with whom the themes of faith and parent/child love resonate or anyone who has a weakness for stories involving child abduction and/or cancer. For my full review, see here.

I thought this would be a fun little Christmas thriller novella set in NYC. Umm…no mystery because you know what’s going on the entire time. Every character annoyed me and made poor, unrealistic choices. The children seemed way too advanced for their ages, and at times seemed more mature than their mother. For such a short novella I rolled my eyes way too many times. A plus was the setting, NYC at Christmas.

Criminals, hospitals, NYC and one kid with a lot of dumb luck. There's not a lot else to say about this, but it did its job of ushering in December for me. 😂
