I really liked this book, I'm not usually into insta love/love at first sight but this book put a good twist on it
I loved Victoria as a character and how she grows abs changes but Robert was a pushy but they were happy in the end

Love at first sight or abuse?

I usually love Julia Quinn novels but this one was too much. The beginning was mostly sweet. But after they have their falling out the main man’s behavior becomes atrocious. He acts as though he owns her. He does whatever he wants and justifies it by saying it is out of love. He stalks her, kisses her when she asks him not to and then kidnaps her! Just because she once loved him did not give him permission to continuously go against her wishes and pursue her. She explicitly asks him to stop and he does not. When she does fall in love it’s because he protects her from dangerous situations that he got her into in the first place!
I am all for a love story and a couple stolen kisses but this went to far for me.

The awful saccharine first page made me double check the author. Quinn usually writes a LOT better than this tripe, I couldn't believe that she had actually written this.

The writing felt more like a Quinn novel when the couple broke up, but the story and characters still didn't sit quite right with me. Victoria was a top notch ninny, while Robert is overbearing and creepy.

I don't understand that despite Victoria's desire to straighten things out with Robert she withheld key information that would make him believe / understand that she wasn't a gold digger. The only thing I could think of was that Victoria was embarrassed about it? Or ashamed? Ugh.

Favorite Quote:
"I have spent the last seven years utterly miserable because of a stupid misunderstanding propagated by a pair of goddamn interfering fathers. Frankly, Aunt Brightbill, your offended sensibilities are not high on my list of priorities."
(Robert, page 174)

vidám, kedves, semmit nem túlbonyolító regény, és végre:
a két főhős beszél egymással, és nem csak duzzogva kerülgetik egymást fejezeteken keresztül! Ritka, mint a fehér holló, de emiatt (is) imádtam
