The third book in The Inheritance Games series, this wraps up the first chunk of the story, while leaving the door open to additional stories (but not inconclusive). Picking up several months after the second book, Avery is getting closer to fulfilling the requirements of the will and finishing her year living in Hawthorne House. Until another puzzle appears, this time with more players and a new, external villain.
This was a fun conclusion to the business of Avery inheriting. It returned to a greater focus on the puzzles, which was great, and took a new, sweeping twist. I appreciate how Barnes used the world of rich people and their secrets and twisted it into a game - and then, the conclusion is very satisfying for books about a billionaire’s fortune. Throughly enjoyed this.

I thought this was a pretty good conclusion to the Inheritance Games series. All the twists and turns of the games and puzzles were awesome and I loved how there were both moments where you figured things out with the characters and moments where the characters made you wait to find out.
I also loved how protruding chess is in all of these books. It makes me want to play a game of chess by a fire in a mansion with *cough* Grayson *cough*. Or Xander, that would be fun too.
I feel like Grayson was COMPLETELY cheated out. I'm on the team Grayson supremacy here.
Jameson is too much of a pick-me girl for me but don't get me wrong, I still love him.
Xander has and always will be one of my favorite Hawthorne brothers because he's just so chaotic.
I just love all of them (yes, even Nash a little bit).
Overall, I really liked this series and I can't wait to read the Brothers Hawthorne.

I KNEW Eve was sus and I hate that she played Grayson like that. Not cool.I also loved how protruding chess is in all of these books. It makes me want to play a game of chess by a fire in a mansion with *cough* Grayson *cough*. Or Xander, that would be fun too.
