Love the building of tension and spice between Casia and Elander!! This series continues to hook me and I will forever love the differences in all of the characters that make the group perfect. Can’t wait to continue!

5 out of 5 Glorious Stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“Because it is perfectly human to hope… To believe things despite evidence to the contrary.”

The Call of the Void was another five star read in this series. This world is so stunning and Casia may be one of my favorite heroines I’ve read in a long time. Her character is so complex and nuanced. I love how she presents a strong face then bares her soul to Elander moments later. This novel is definitely a story of shifting alliances, troubled love, and questionable friends. Each chapter chips away at your soul as you watch the characters you come to love, keep meeting additional tribulations. I am so stunned by the complexity of this story. My friends know I have those books I harass them to read, and this series is on the list!!! Please join me in my love for Casia, Elander, Nessa, Zev, Rhea, and more!

It's a shame this book wasn't better. I came close to DNFing a few times and even read a couple short stories in between reading this book. It was grammatically well written but boring, lots of expo dumps and the plot felt like it was pretty weak compared to the first two books. Our MC never grows as a person and the world building is great but boy was I sick of reading just one big description of their surrounding.

There's a lot of useless information, lots of  thoughtlessness and stupidity from our characters that make them seem whiny and incompetent. There's a constant need for them to be close to one another otherwise they turn into  mopping messes and are unable to do anything. You're in the middle of a war. There are times you have to separate to be a good leader.  Not too mention the death Gods mark. They mention the ability to transfer it multiple times, but nobody thinks to give it to the current god of death, Elander!

There's no consistency with the magic system. Why can she master it one minute and then barley use it the next? Things are mention in the first book that are never brought up again. The characters become less interesting and the surprises really aren't that surprising. And they die and come back so frequently you'd think it was an episode of supernatural. Idk how we've fallen so low but if I hadn't already bought the other two books I wouldn't continue on

I found it a bit boring and it took me a bit of motivation to get through it. The motivation being finishing it LOL. I already bought the whole series so I’ll keep reading it but I’m just hoping it picks up the pace and is less of the same stuff as in the previous books.
