I one-clicked this baby as soon as it went live. I'd been wanting Grayson's story since he was a secondary character in his sister Addison's story. There was just something about him.

I liked the storyline of the story itself but I was wanting something more. There seemed to be a lot in both of Grayson and River's background that was missing. I hated that the entire time that they were getting closer that they didn't divulge important stuff like fears. I get that they were wanting to keep things casual but it still struck me as odd. River at times felt immature but I had to take into account her abandonment issues.

Even with those issues I still loved the story. This author has a gift at keeping her audience engaged.

Ava Harrison is a totally new to me author, who I stumbled across in one of the book recommendation lists that I was going through. With Entice promising all those elements that makes up for an emotionally well rounded read, I was quickly hooked, making Ms. Harrison someone I am going to continue reading in the future.

36 year old Grayson Price has unfinished business to take care of when it comes to Tyler Reed, someone whom he considered once to be an older brother. Unable to say no to his sister, Grayson agrees to the meeting and finds himself with more than he bargained for when he comes face to face with Tyler’s daughter, 20 year old River Reed.

From the onset, there is a undeniable spark between the two which makes things precarious for Grayson in a way that he never would have anticipated. While River may want to throw caution to the wind and explore what it is between them, Grayson would like to believe that he is not ruled by the pure male instinct to claim River as his which scares him to no end.

However, even as Grayson tries to distance himself, none of it is to be helped as fate has a way of drawing them together time and yet again. It also does not help matters when River exposes her vulnerabilities to him, the way she responds to him, and makes him yearn for something that he has not thought he ever would consider as part of his future.

With every kiss and searing glance that renders both breathless, these two embark on a secret “affair” that slowly unfolds into something that neither anticipated. With River and Grayson both bringing their own baggage to the mix, it is no lighthearted joining, and it was incredible to witness the changes that they went through as a couple and individuals to reach their happily ever after.

Entice was a very mature, thoughtful, and meaningful read, all in a way that most taboo romances aren’t. There are very few authors who can do topics like this justice without making you cringe or worse. This is essentially what stood out for me when it comes to my first read from Ms. Harrison, and as I mentioned, definitely not going to be my last.

I enjoyed getting to know both Grayson and River, and that significant point in their past giving added meaning to the connection that is forged to life between them. Grayson was definitely all kinds of hot – the panty scorching variety of hot and I could not have asked for a better placed hero than Grayson in every single aspect.

What I loved the most was how the relationship between Grayson and River was fleshed out, the exploration of deepening feelings between two people who carry emotional baggage to last them a lifetime. The emotional depth added that pull factor to the story which had plentiful sex scenes which were tastefully done and sinfully hot!

Recommended for fans of huge age gap romances exploring “taboo” topics. Ava Harrison does this with a flare which makes for stupendous reading!

Final Verdict: Entice delivers to readers a story that captivates you from the start, with Grayson and River claiming a piece of yourself before they are through!

Rating = 4.5/5

I received an ARC of this from a Facebook giveaway

I read this in two sittings: before bed and when I woke up to the afternoon. I couldn’t start my Sunday without finishing this book down. “One more chapter” became the motto from 60-80% through the book. After that, I was near the end, so what is the point of stopping?

I enjoyed this book so much and I think it’s one of the best age gap books done to date. I loved how nothing happened for a long time and even though the interest and attraction was there from the beginning, the book took the time to build the angst (a perfect level of angst) and build both characters to stand on their own, and then together.

For River, she loved him since she was 12. When he helped her through a rough day, she formed a childhood crush on him, but then hasn’t seen him since. Grayson’s attraction to River only started in the present, of course, but the dilemma of River being his friend’s daughter as well as just underage kept him from doing anything. When she turns 21 and legal, it’s only his morals holding him back then.

It’s only after she turns of age that anything happens. I’m sure this was done on purpose from a writing standpoint, so it may be a taboo story, but it’s in the bounds of legality. At the same time, the author didn’t have to start the story so long before her 21st birthday, but this timeframe allowed the characters’ problems to be introduced as well as their attraction for one another.

River is an awesome character. I love her backstory and her continuing story, beyond Grayson. Her rough childhood, not-great parents, the constant abandonment was all so interesting. The author did an amazing job showing how this abandonment rolled over into trauma for her and River goes a little down at the news from her stepmother. Grayson too has his own little sad backstory, about his commitment to working and his avoidance of his Hamptons house but it wasn’t as good as River’s. His character’s story is more focused on his morals and how he doesn’t want to cross the lines and hook up with River.

Once they do get together in the last half of the book, their romance is hot and sweet! The sex is steamy but their relationship is extremely sweet, especially more toward the end when things are getting so real. I laughed so hard when she was stuck under his desk.

I don’t have one negative thing to say about this book. It’s the first I’ve read from the author, but I will definitely be checking out more.

Ava Harrison, what have you done to me? Including so many of my favorite subgenres in one book and then have it narrated by an amazing team!!!! This book has so much in it. First a taboo age difference, then his best friend's daughter. Add in a slow burn, and a build of passion that just set the book on fire and I just couldn't stop listening! 8 years have gone by since River has seen her crush, Grayson. He was the one person who gave her solace when her mother dropped her on her father's doorstep. Now grown up, and seeing him again, her feelings haven't changed, and the attraction between the two is impossible to ignore. And their story begins. Now I can tell you, there is some meat to this book. It's not all fluff and romance. Ava masterfully weaves a thread in this book, giving us a real look at River, her past, why she is who she is and how things in her life were manipulated. It's emotional, and gives a real understanding to all the characters. And I don't want to miss saying how much I loved Gray's brother Jackson. He gave that humor in times of trouble, but is steadfast in his loyalty. I love Ava's style of writing, always giving me a little of everything I need to enjoy a story.

The narration is impeccable. Sebastian York is perfect as the broody, Grayson. He gives him all the characteristics that make us frustrated with him just with his voice, but can't help but fall in love with him. Virginia Rose as River...the best casting ever! She is River, giving her that free spirit with the underlying hurt and unending amount of love. It's a fantastic casting and the performance amazing.

I really liked this one. Gray and River had issues and vulnerabilities and that made them perfect for one another. They understood each other like no one else could. Their bond was strong and they had so much chemistry. Great read!

River fell in love with Grayson Price when she was very young and at a crossroad in her life. Flash forward to River almost turning 21 and the two are reunited. But she is no longer the little girl of his best friend. She is the beautiful woman who has made him feel things he has never felt before. But can the two make it work with 15 years between their ages? Or will the age difference and her father be the nails in their coffin? Heartwarming and inspiring this book shows that no matter what hurdles you have to climb over the love and connection you have with someone can make all the issues easy to get through.
