I loved this book so much! Bea and Damien are my new OTP. When I finished this novel at lunch at work, I wanted to squeal out loud with joy ... The author's slow burn was excellent and this book gave me everything I wanted. The dialogue continues to be delightful and funny with plenty of laugh out loud moments.
Messina's tone is deft and reminiscent of a beautiful blend of Austen and Heyer. I cannot wait until the next book which I have pre-ordered. Fingers crossed she doesn't throw too many obstacles in the path of my beloved characters... I read all the books on Kindle Unlimited but liked them so much I have bought them all because I didn't want to return them :)
Upon finishing this novel I felt conflicted about whether to re-read the book again or re-read the whole series ... I'm re-reading this book and will then go and re-read the whole series. I should point out that the audible narration is excellent and I have been enjoying it hugely.

There was a bit too much recapping of the previous books, but I still like this book most so far. Beatrice and Kesgrave arguing and bantering was amazing. So many quotes and scenes I read over and over.

Seriously, these just keep getting better. I couldn't put it down and stayed up inappropriately late (early??) to finish it. I adore Bea and Damian. There's just something about a headstrong heroine and the exasperated man who wants to protect her, but knows that (a) he can't stop her and (b) it's part of why he loves her, that I find swoony. And yes, I've already started book 4.

The investigation is the shortest one so far, in terms of suspects and venue of inquries. A large portion of the book focuses on the development of Bea and Kesgrave relationship. Bea had the most clever revelation of whodunit and a happy ending.
