Three girls, tied together by one (arguably, two? three?) decades-long mystery.

What happened to Trumanelle? Who is the angel found in the circle of dandelions? And will the woman at the center of it solve the mystery, or will the truth evade her until after she's gone?

[book:We Are All the Same in the Dark|49189494] was a beautifully written small-town mystery that truly kept you on your toes. The two main characters, Odette & Angel, are both united & fortified by their weaknesses, and this felt mostly masterfully done, rather than unnecessarily flaunted.

This was an easy and enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend this book to others, especially if you are a fan of fast/medium-paced mysteries or thrillers. I will say that I struggled at points to relate to either of the main characters, and certain plotlines felt hurriedly wrapped or wholly neglected by the end of the book. But the twists & turns kept me engaged, and I can honestly say that I did not predict the ending.

Rating: 3.75 ⭐'s.

I really enjoyed this book. It got me out of a significant reading slump. I started it on audible (really loved what i listened to - great reader and engaging). I started reading it about 35% into the book when the storyline started picking up the pace, which i enjoyed so i could read it at faster tempo. It was incredibly easy to read and I really loved how the book was sectioned off. I was weary at first when it jumped to Angel’s part, as I really enjoyed (and was attached to) Odette’s narration style, but ended up loving the change. Great plot line, enough of a twist and a cliffhanger to leave you wanting more. This was my first Julia Heaberlin novel and would like to read more from her!

The “twist” for this book was terrible. I’m not even leaving it a full review.

Intricate & Beautiful

This story was like nothing I’ve read before. This slow burn novel depicts a tragedy that scarred a town & a woman forever. Will she remain motivated to find the truth? Will it lead her to the truth or her grave?! This is worth your time! Read it!

Really enjoyed this book and did not see the twist in the middle coming at all. So many things were saying that the priest did it and I ignored them all
