This has made me respect the field of plastic surgery. I'll be honest, I don't like the field due to its reputation of their work being mainly for vanity and beautification of individuals. That's coming from my religious beliefs
But there's another aspect of it, that I sort of knew, but never really thought about or realised just the extent of its need.
And it's things like this: injuries and even birth defects (birth defects is not mentioned here but it made me realise this field would also probably very useful for them)
And so I know respect the field and its beginnings
And regarding the book itself, I liked reading about how these doctors fought and innovated to help these soldiers

I don't feel that I have much to say about this book, other than that I found it very interesting! Granted, I knew almost nothing about the subject going in, but I felt that Fitzharris approached this topic in a very humanising and respectful way. I learnt a lot and found the writing style enjoyable to read, if a bit repetitive in places.
