This was a really nice surprise. This is a new author for me and I loved her writing style. The Hero was dreamy and the heroine didn't get on my last nerve (although I really wish she wasn't sooooo perfect - she's a doctor and she looks like Gweynth Paltrow!?!) Oh well, I still had a great time and can't wait to read about the rest of "the boys".

I’m conflicted about this one.
It was Incredibly short and with such angst going on it all felt like it turned around too quickly and was too neatly wrapped up to be in the least believable.
I picked this up as I had read a short story from this author in an anthology and liked the way she wrote.
There was nothing extraordinary in her writing style here and I was little disappointed however she surprised me a few times just when I though things were going down a predictable and cliched route she’d find a different way out of it so she gained a few points there. I’m not sure if I’ll pick up another by this author or not.

Michaela is starting her new life, away from her father, on her own terms.

This books starts out with Michaela having a one night stand with a smoking hot, sexy stranger that she meets in the bar. Little did she know that mister sex-on-sticks from her one night stand would unexpectedly show back up in her life in a way that she never could have imagined?

Jackson Cantrell is trying to put his life back together after losing his FBI career and trying to fight to get his career back. He gets that chance in the form of an offer from Michaela’s dad, protect her, find the stalker and he would have his FBI career reinstated. Just what Jacksons wants or so he thinks.

Kayla and Jackson have chemistry from the very first moment that they see each other in the bar. They both have stuff in their past that they were fighting/running away from and that had them denying what they wanted from each other or for themselves.

Michaela/Kayla is trying to live her life on her own terms. She moved out of her father's domineering household to a small Virginia town hoping to have the life that she wants. On the start of her new life, she has a smoking hot one night stand with a man she called James (because she said he looked like James Bond in his tux). She didn't plan on that one night bringing the wrath of her father down on her or put her in contact with the man who was supposed to be just one night.

Jackson Cantrell has been fighting to get his way back into the FBI. All that is put in jeopardy when Governor Eastland tells Jack he either take the protection detail for his daughter (unbeknownst to her) or lose his shot at getting back his old job. Jack agree, but knows he's in for much more than he bargained for.

Kayla and Jack are absolutely smoking hot. Their chemistry, from the very first moment they laid eyes on each other in the bar, lept off the page. You could tell, whether they were fighting or in bed, that the two of them were meant to be together. While they both were fighting the demons of the past, along with current threats, they both had to work to figure out just what they wanted out of for themselves and with each other.

A fast paced, hot, sexy, edge of your seat read.

I enjoyed this story. It had everything suspense, mystery and some romance. With the way the story ended I am hoping for a sequel maybe Lucky's story?
