The beginning started out decently and then it just plummeted downhill after that for me. It felt like a bad, low budget 80s slasher with all of the problems of that decade and none of the charm.

The  characters were barely characters. So much with the killer just made zero sense or was extremely  confusing and underdeveloped.
He gets overwhelmed easily and has violent melt downs, but he can travel from PA to Mexico by himself, commit grave robbery and murder, then make it back to PA just fine? He sees spirits/spirit orbs except that's never really mentioned after the author drops that tidbit into the story? What?

The writing felt juvenile and 'oh so edgy!' like a teenage boy who realized he can write gory horror stories. I slogged through this one (and regretted it) but I won't be bothering with the sequels.

A group of college kids rent out “the most secluded cabin in Pennsylvania” for a weekend of partying. What they don’t realize is the cabin is located near the infamous Camp Slaughter where many have gone missing before. And that the cannibal responsible for those disappearances still lives nearby...

If you’re in the mood for a slasher that follows the usual tropes while also adding in new elements, this one is for you. It felt familiar yet refreshing at the same time. In typical slasher fashion, the characters consisted of a large group of college kids, but unfortunately i didn’t get attached to any of them (maybe that was the intention?), so some of the deaths fell flat, and their only purpose was to add gore

The horror equivalent to the “romance” novels I tease my sister about reading: self-indulgent and poorly written…

But I mean, I’m gonna read the others though…
