Overall, 4.5. I think this one is better than the first, personally! First time rereading it since 2008.

There’s nothing like returning to a cherished book you read as a teenager and still enjoying it. Oh man, as I read this book and the little things came back to me (including what happens in the future books), I got sentimental. What great writing. Now, on to the next one!

I first came across BIFN years ago--like 8 years. And I loved it. I still love it. I'm finally reading the rest of the series. I thought this was a great addition. Aside from being very similar to the first--which I sort of liked, gave me a slasher flick sequel sort of vibe, the book was great. I love the characters. I was sort of sad to see Chad and Stacey end things. We never really got to see them when they were happy together. But I do love Jacob and I'm excited to read about them in the next book. I loved the storyline. I figured out who the stalker was a while before the ending but it was still awesome!
2nd read 10/11/22: Still so freakin fun and good! I will always love Amber’s comedic relief.

I really liked book 1.. sadly this book is another one that falls under the second book in a series curse.
It was a boring book, the ending was ok, but felt much to hurried. Like the book had to be finished. All that build up, for nothing. :\
Spoiler
I disliked Chad, really much, but also Stacey. You just broke up (did they break up) with Chad and then at the end you are already kissing another dude? Wait what? Did you even love/like Chad?It was a boring book, the ending was ok, but felt much to hurried. Like the book had to be finished. All that build up, for nothing. :\

Im still going to give this book 2 stars but it was a DNF for me. Its not a bad book. I just couldn't get into or relate to the characters. I also am not a fan of mystery crime books and this one had a lot of that.

It is Stacey's senior year; one year after she saved her roommate, and best friend, Drea, from an untimely death. Now, back at Hillcrest Boarding School, she's having nightmares again and receiving strange letters with no name or return address. This time her nightmares are of ghosts of people who have been brutally murdered. But she's not the only one having nightmares. A transfer student, Jacob, is having nightmares of Stacey's murder, and he's determined to stop the killer. This was a decent sequel that introduced a character with the same powers as the protagonist. I liked their dynamic, but I was more interested in the secondary characters’ relationship.

Not my favorite of the series. for some reason i personally thought it seemed a little to mellow even when things were happening. a little spark there, but it felt lacking. But, i love the addition of Jacob. If anythign it was his appearance that made things more interesting.

This one was definitely better than the first and I think I give that credit to Jacob - who is by far the best character to come out of this series so far. I like how the author kept him very secretive literally up until the last minute. I don't think there was really one thing I didn't like about him.
Now, as for everyone else...I like PJ, he's entertaining and always good for a laugh. Amber, I really just don't get. Chad - no comment. Drea - hmph...bitch and worst friend ever (I don't think my opinion of her is ever going to change).
The story line of this book felt a little more suspensful than the first book and I think because it had to deal with Stacey directly and her possible death. I still wish Stacey would grow a backbone though and actually stand up for herself.
Moving onto #3...
