What a fantastic start to a series. I got Tangled mixed with Robin Hood vibes and I absolutely loved it! The alternating POV was great and I was immediately wondering how the two characters would connect. Needless to say you find out sooner than later and the reveal was EVERYTHING. It was such a great twist, even though it was tucked in my brain. I also enjoyed the revolution type plot. It kept me on my toes and there was always some sort of action happening. This book had a great mix of characters and events and I did really like most of the characters. (IKYK) Quint was my favorite secondary character and he provided a great balance of humor and logic against the dark background. I also loved Corrick and Tessa. They were so complex and multi-faceted and the tension was immaculate. This book was incredibly quick-paced and I didn't want to put it down! Total knockout for me!
