Ace: What Asexuality Reveals about Desire, Society, and the Meaning of Sex by Angela Chen

informative medium-paced

3.5

If you don't know anything about asexuality, then this is a great book. But if you have looked into if you are on the aro/ace spectrum or you know people on the aro/ace spectrum, it doesn't really bring anything new (unless you are white. then it will bring something new to you since Chen speaks on racial identities playing a role in how people realize/experience being ace).
I enjoyed the various people interviewed and the discussion on how the Ace space is dominated by white voices. I enjoyed Chen talking about how cultural/racial experiences/differences can affect how one may perceive/realize they are ace. I also enjoyed the focus on how women especially have to fight through various struggles when they speak about being on the Ace spectrum.
