Sacred Rest: Recover Your Life, Renew Your Energy, Restore Your Sanity by Saundra Dalton-Smith

2.0

I picked up this book having heard of her "different kinds of rest" concept. I loved that and still do (the concept). It's fantastic for taking a closer reflective look at our inner strain and choosing a direction for action. I'm very thankful for this contribution to the conversation about our overstretched lives.

However, the author is a medical doctor - one I feel I would trust immensely and be so thankful to find - but she isn't a writer. The writing is tedious. It took me forever to finish this really-easy read because I just couldn't slog through the writing.

If you're new to the "slow down" topic and a friend highly recommended this book, perhaps it's for you. And DEFINITELY check out her rest inventory online. But otherwise, read elsewhere.
