After reading book 1 in the series (Pumpkin Spice Cafe ⭐️⭐️⭐️), I was expecting something similar, but I loved Hazel's story so much more than Jeanie's.
This story felt more "grown up" than book 1 while still keeping its sweet, cutesy, hallmark movie feel moments that us readers got from Pumpkin Spice Cafe - and there is definitely more spice!
Was great to see the return of the characters from book 1.
Overall, *chefs kiss*, I will think about this book for a while after finishing.

I adored this book. It was cosy, witty, endearing, and just good fun. I didn't want it to end.

It was a decent, enjoyable read, and I loved the gothic vibes. But the end of the book felt a little rushed. There was such a build-up towards the climax and the unveiling of the mysteries... for it to all end in what felt like a few pages!

I didn't expect to enjoy this book as much as I did, but I couldn't stop reading.
I loved the characters and the chemistry between them.
There were a few decent plot twists, and the world building was good.
Overall a great read!

The story is dark, twisted, haunting, emotional, entertaining, thrilling, and spicy... and the ending 😩
I inhaled this book, the characters, and all of their flaws.
I enjoyed the variation on the POVs, although the story is mainly told from dual POV of our MCs.
This is my first read for this author, but I will definitely be checking out some of Harleigh's other books.
Warning: the book is VERY dark romance/thriller, so check all content warnings before reading.

The FMC needs serious therapy.
The second half of this book was messy, and the flashbacks were repetitive.
MMC isn't "morally grey," he's abusive.
I've read other books from the L.O.R.D.S series, so I went into this with a fairly open mind.. overall, I was disappointed.

A great debut novel: I really enjoyed reading this story, and I am already looking forward to the next instalment to see what is in store for our characters!
I also loved the representation/diversity the author brings to the story.
This book also gets my appreciation for its wonderful prologue!
