This novel read like a collection of interconnected short stories with a big bang of an ending that ties everything together. It’s the kind of book you immediately want to reread. Woomi’s story, in particular, was like a shot in the dark, and it was SO good. I love Cho Nam-Joo’s writing — her ability to tie big societal issues into seemingly small stories without coming across as preachy is so genius.

This book dragged in the middle. It had a strong finish and I liked the twist. I wish I had skipped ahead to part 3 when I started to get bored of the romance in part 2.
