This book was gorgeous. It was a story of memory and femininity and motherhood and girlhood and rage. It was gentle and poignant and hopeful. “What is grief except love lost its object.”

This might not be a 5 star for you, but for me it was perfect.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 5%.
Not in the mood to pick up such a long fantasy series - might begin again another time.

I’m obsessed. This world. These characters. The relationships. The journeys. I just loved falling into this world and I read this book so slow because I didn’t want it to end.

There were so many characters in this story and I love how all their perspectives came together to create such an engaging picture. I wanted more from some characters, but was so amazed at the unexpected character arcs of others. The vibes were so moody and mysterious and dark and dangerous. The magic system was incredible 🖤

Meh. If you want lighthearted erotica… it was mostly just that. The FMC’s trauma kinda felt over the top. An intense story (see trigger warnings) that felt unnecessary and dropped into the story very suddenly. If it had been revealed gradually and if more context had been provided, maybe? But mostly I was confused why I was getting so much detail about people who weren’t in the story at all. And it was so intense… for two paragraphs.. and then just back to sex.

A captivating story of a mother reflecting with her daughters, telling them the story of a past romance and moments in her life that shaped her and also speaking to the things that maybe were inevitable all along. How do people impact our lives and what makes a moment important? It was a gentle story. It was perfectly paced. It was simply lovely to read.

Gorgeous writing. Reading this felt like watching a stopmotion video of  a puzzle assembling - a dark, magical, surreal, puzzle that left imprints in my mind. It was an imaginative masterpiece. I’m so enamored with this world that Schwab created and the dynamic characters that fill it. I love these characters! I want to be them and fight them and love them and scream at them! This world came to life for me.
