This book is an amazing introduction to feminist theory and acted as a great supplement to my current studies. bell hooks’ writing felt approachable and authentic, while maintaining a level of authority. This a must read for everyone of all demographics.

What an amazing way to start the new year! This book was just what i needed and not what i expected. As I am about to enter my 20s, i can’t think of a better tool to support me as i grow. While forcing me to evaluate my current friendships/sisters, this book also allowed me to put my own behaviors into perspective. The audiobook made me feel Dr.Joy’s words/message so much deeper. I can’t wait to get this physically and highlight all the moments that stuck with me.
