I loveddd this book. It was so beautifully written with the descriptions of the landscape to the elegant words Anne uses to describe things. I had no idea the book would end 5 years down the road from the beginning and it was so nice to see how Anne developed as a character as she got older. So glad that after years of wanting to read this I finally did!!!

I absolutely adored this book. The prose and story were both so enchanting and kept me interested every moment I spent reading. Grace was such a lovely main character and her ramblings and thoughts were so interesting and honestly inspiring. I would love to be able to think the same way she does. All of the spells were so fun to read and I loved how the world of faerie was integrated into the story a bit, it reminded me of Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia Of Faeries which was the exact reason I decided to pick up this book. The prose from that series really shone through and it was delightful to read!! I’d highly recommend this book if you like that series or Anne Of Green Gables. I haven’t yet read Anne Of Green Gables but I did watch the show Anne With an E and was thinking about it the entirety of the book. The poems at the beginning of each chapter was such a lovely little addition to the book, especially because 4 poems were by my favorite poet Christina Rossetti.

Love this book so much!!!! I had forgotten a lot of what happened in Belladonna but it did a good job of explaining the past events in a way that still flowed with the plot so I was still able to follow along and remember the most important parts!!!! When starting this I was hesitant about having Blythe’s POV but those ended up being my absolute favorite chapters omg I loved it so much. I thought the suspense and build up to the final revelations (yes, plural) was super good and made the story really intriguing. While reading I was super invested because of the guesses I had of how things were developed and let me tell you I was THRILLED when I happened to get it right. Overall great book! I definitely recommend the audiobook the narrator is amazing!!! Absolutely love Fate even though he’s also a little shit!!! And Blythe has now become my favorite character and I’m sooooo excited for the next book!!!

I started reading Braiding Sweetgrass last June and I've finally finished it. Despite how long it took me to read this book I really loved it. It took me longer to read simply because I struggle to get through books comprised of essays rather than plot. It kind of feels right to me to have finished it now though. I've now had 2 full semesters being a horticulture major and many of the things l've learned came up while reading this book. She'd mention alluvial soil and l'd remember learning that a couple months ago in my soil science class.
Or l'd be thinking about things l've learned in my plant physiology class and how it pertains to the plants mentioned throughout this book. One of my classes actually had us read a chapter from this to take into consideration how we view the world from a western science perspective and how understanding plants is so much more than that.
Definitely one of the best books l've read and I will be rereading chapters from time to time since l'm pretty bad at retaining the things that I read.

I absolutely loved this book. It was first recommended to me by a close friend about 2 years ago and I’d always wanted to read it but never got around to it. Thank god for my goal to read my physical tbr this year so I was encouraged to read it. It was absolutely magical and so inspiring for me as a horticulture student. I now want to do endless research on poisonous plants as well as the intricacies of owning an apothecary. The combination of science, herbalism, greek myth, and witchcraft was absolutely amazing and I loved every second of it. It left off on an INSANE cliff hanger so I’ll be immediately reading the second book (luckily it’s available at my library). Absolutely wonderful book, not to mention all the characters are so interesting. Definitely recommend to read this if you love plants and/or gothic literature!!!

Omg literally obsessed. This story is so good I love the whole flower farm and as a horticulture major this is now on my list of future life goals. The romance is so perfect and really shows what it’s like to be neurodivergent and navigating trying to be in a healthy relationship after a string of unhealthy ones. Opal’s identity with neurodivergence and not having a full diagnosis is really nice to read about and I think is representative of what it’s like to be in the current generation and figuring out that you’re neurodivergent. Absolutely loved this book!!!!! Also absolutely loved the audiobook narrator!!
